Cruiser Bikes for the Whole Family

Hi everyone, Jake here! Most bikes are fun, but how long has it been since you've ridden a cruiser up and down the road? They've changed so much over the past few years that you'll have a hard time getting off because you'll be having so much fun.

Cruisers' comfort, style, and affordability (compared to mountain and racing bikes) have led to renewed popularity in recent years. In the mid-1990s, a series of reproductions of classic cruiser bikes hit the market. The magazine Kickstand, devoted to the resurgence of the cruiser lifestyle, hit the market in 2009. Schwinn started the resurgence in 1995, when it reissued the Black Phantom to celebrate the company's 100th birthday. Soon, similar offerings appeared from Columbia and Roadmaster. Harley-Davidson even licensed a cruiser bike with their logo and trademark styling. These helped stir up interest in cruisers, which brought them to the attention of aging Baby Boomers, who remembered the originals from their youth and now were reaching an age where a comfortable bike was more exciting than a fast bike, and who also had the money to buy whatever they wanted. The classic "retro" looks, reliable mechanical performance, comfortable ride, and relatively low price of cruisers (compared to mountain bikes or road racers) also appealed to young Gen Xers.

Cruise With Me!

Pacific Shorewood Women's Cruiser

Want to cruise around your beach town in comfort and style? Turn to the Pacific Shorewood women's cruiser bike, which offers a classic cruiser frame, nostalgic white-wall tires, and old-school front and rear fenders. The seven-speed, 26-inch Shorewood offers a truly laid-back ride, with easy-reach handlebars mounted on a tall stem to put you in an upright seating position, along with a comfortably wide padded suspension seat. The twist index shifters and hand-operated brakes, meanwhile, put all your controls within easy reach. Finally, the bike includes a sturdy chain cover that will keep your pants and/or shoelaces from tangling with the chain.

The ride is very smooth on this bike and the handlebars are super - you don't have to keep them at 45 degrees, put them where it feels best for you. Overall, I'd recommend this bike for someone who is looking for a comfortable cruiser that has a nice look to it as well.

Schwinn Windwood Women's Cruiser

The classic Schwinn Windwood women's 26-Inch cruiser evokes the simple style and grace of traditional bicycles, making it a great choice for cruising to the store, the beach, or around town. Designed for easy, relaxed riding, the Windwood boasts a sturdy steel frame with a low stand-over height, making it easy to get on and off the bike. The rustproof 26-hole alloy rims and rear coaster brakes, meanwhile, allow you to stop on a dime. And riders will love the classic chrome fenders and rear storage rack. Other details include a comfortable wide-spring saddle, a single-speed design, pneumatic tires, and curved back handlebars.

Founded in 1895, Schwinn is an American icon that's long been synonymous with quality and innovation. The company has built some of the best-known and best-loved bikes of multiple generations, including the Aerocycle, Paramount, Phantom, Varsity, Sting-Ray, Krate, and Homegrown. Today, Schwinn continues to innovate with such releases as the redesigned Sting-Ray, Rocket mountain bikes, and Fastback road bikes. With a continued dedication to quality forever synonymous with the Schwinn name, America's most famous bicycle brand looks forward to providing another century of innovation, freedom, and performance to people of all ages.

I love this bike! So easy, like the ones when i was a kid. I use this bike with a child carrier, and it is perfect. Nice wide cushy seat for the bum, allows you to sit up straight and leisurely ride, not hunkered over the handlebars. If you just want to cruise, this is the bike!

Huffy Karaoke AMP Men's Cruiser

With MP3 Speakers!

Nothing beats moseying through a beach town on a cruiser bike, and the Huffy Karaoke AMP men's bike is no exception. However, the 26-inch Karaoke ups the ante by including a built-in amplifier/speaker system for listening to music. As a result, you can plug in your iPod, MP3 player, or CD player and cruise through town in melodic style. The Karaoke's cruiser design details include a classic steel frame with wide-sweep steel cruiser handlebars, painted front and rear fenders, and weather-resistant painted steel rims. The bike is also extremely comfortable on the road, with a large, two-color comfort spring saddle with an alloy quick-release post. The Amplified Music Player (AMP) is the real star of the show, however, storing in a removable handlebar bag for effortless transport. The music player--which includes an adjustable volume control (no headphones required)--comes with 10 free music downloads from more than three million available songs.

This bike is great! I've had it for a while now and I love it!

Diamondback Mini Della Cruz Girls' Cruiser

It's your choice: you can get your kids off to a healthy start by buying them a trouble-free quality bike that gives them their first taste of freedom, or you can buy one with a price closer to free and make riding a source of frustration. Enter the Diamondback Mini Della Cruz 16-inch girl's bike, a high-quality beginner's bike that's a TV's worst nightmare. The Mini Della Cruz is equipped with a number of quality replaceable parts, such as a heavy-duty steel frame and fork, aluminum rims, and quality bearings and hardware, all of which combine to make riding bicycles the liberating and healthy activity it should be. The Mini Della Cruz also offers such features as a coaster brake, custom fenders, a Diamondback kids' springer cruiser saddle, and a set of training wheels to get your daughter up to speed.

This bike is gorgeous. The style is very retro circa 1950's, with the full, generous, shock-absorbing seat, the 50's aqua (it's definitely more aqua than the baby blue it appears to be in the photo) and salmon-pink accents on the wheels and flowers. The other accent colors are black, white - and in the center flourish there is a champagne-tan color as a backdrop to the pink and white flowers. All the designs on the bike have a glittery appearance that sort of shines in the light. The seat, too is embellished with a scant floral design in pink and white, as are the fenders.
