What is a Crunk Cup?
It is a chalis type container that is often plated with jewels or stones. The crunk cup is also known as the pimp cup. Carrying the crunk cup is a symbol that lets everyone know you are ready to party.
The "crunk cup" started in emulation of former pimp Don Juan, who carries around a big chalice of "pimp juice". He was featured in the 1999 HBO documentary, "Pimps Up, Ho's Down".
The crunk cup was made popular with the famous rapper Lil Jon. The word "crunk" is often associated with partying. For instance you might here someone say "get crunk in the club." Lil Jon said, "Crunk is a state of heightened excitement." It is often misinterpreted for someone being intoxicated. The crunk cup lets everyone know your ready to have a good time.
