What's a 'Cthulhu' and what's up with the t-shirt? Well, Cthulhu is a fictional being, known as an Elder God or One of the Great Old Ones, he first appeared in H.P Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu written in 1928. Want to know more about Cthulhu? Read on!

I was first introduced to the mythical Cthulhu through the writtings of H.P Lovecraft. The Call of Cthulhu is a short story by anyone's standards but it is still one of my favorite books. This t-shirt is my tribute to Cthulhu!The Cthulhu T-Shirt is available in sizes Small through to 3XL - in Men's and Women's cuts, both short sleeve and long sleeve.
Although there are no images of Cthulhu in the Call of Cthulhu, he is described, "a monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind."
So I went wit an evil Octopus like image :)

Cthulhu first appeared in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" (1928) though it makes minor appearances in a few other Lovecraft works. August Derleth used the creature's name to identify the system of lore employed by Lovecraft and his literary successors, the Cthulhu Mythos.Lovecraft transcribed the pronunciation of Cthulhu as "Khlûl'hloo" - S. T. Joshi points out, however, that Lovecraft gave several differing pronunciations on different occasions. According to Lovecraft, this is merely the closest that the human vocal apparatus can come to reproducing the syllables of an alien language.
