Should you buy the Cuisinart griddler? That would depends very much on the type of food you like to cook and the size of your family. In terms of performance, there is really very little that you can fault this griddler. The unit heats up reasonably quickly and evenly. And with the versatility of this unit, you can't really ask for more out of a table top appliance that can make you paninis, burgers, steaks, eggs, pancakes and many more.

But if you like food that is not exactly flat, like a chicken thigh, for example, then this griddler is not for you. It is not recommended anyway by the manufacturer. The other consideration you need to make is the amount of food you need to cook each time. While you can lay the cover flat for additional cooking space, this griddler suits a family of two to four best. While you can always cook things in batches, it can be a pain if you need to do so every time.

While cleaning is a breeze since you can put the plates and drip tray into the dishwasher, it might still make a mess with greasy food. Grease will splatter and if you press the cover down, oil may also drip down the back when you open it. The trick is you need to use it on lower heat settings when you are cooking oily stuff. There will be less splatters and therefore, less to clean. Put a towel at the back so that when you open the cover, the oil will drip onto the towel and not your table top.
