Diabetes Cure

Welcome to Diabetes Cure on Squidoo...

Diabetes is a serious, chronic condition, one that affects over 150 million people in the world today. There are three different types of diabetes: Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. There are similarities and differences among the three types of diabetes, one in particular - that as of yet there is no cure.

Is There Hope for a Diabetes Cure?

Diabetes occurs when your body is either not producing enough or any insulin, which is a hormone that is necessary in the body in order to turn sugar into energy. If there is not enough insulin in the body this sugar cannot be converted into energy and remains in the bloodstream, resulting in a higher than normal blood sugar level.

Diabetes Cure

When it comes to a diabetes cure, although as of yet there is none, the future looks very bright. There are so many different associations and organizations in the world today that are doing extensive research and studying on the disease that we can only assume that in the near future, even in the next few years in particular, a cure will be found

Diabetes Research

There are a few organizations in particular that are currently helping in the goal of finding a cure for diabetes, one being the American Diabetes Association, which is recognized as being the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. The mission of the association is to prevent and cure diabetes and also to help the lives of those suffering from the condition as well as their friends and families.

They are constantly working and striving to find a diabetes cure in every way that they can, and this includes how they support basic and clinical diabetes research aimed at preventing, treating, and curing diabetes. Most of the diabetes research projects that they support cover the spectrum from islet cell biology and transplantation techniques to studies in education and behavioral issues.

Diabetes Research Continued...

The Diabetes Research Information Center is another major organization working towards finding a diabetes cure, and they offer an array of diabetes information on their website, including about how research has shown that adverse side-effects can occur with standard treatments and how these side-effects will vary depending on the particular treatment used.

The continuance of diabetes research and funding to diabetes organizations and associations is vital if there is to be any hope for a diabetes cure, and so it is important that everyone whether you or someone you know suffers from the disease or not, does their part to help this goal come true. If everyone works together and truly cares about this issue then we should be able to find a cure for this horrible disease sometime in the very near future.
