Sleep-maintenance Insomnia is often associated with depression, sleep apnea, nocturnal myoclonus, Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), hypoglycemia, pain, drugs, alcohol and environmental factors.
Insomnia is also a side effect of some prescription anti-depressant medication. Prescription sleeping medication can be addictive and can affect your ability to fall asleep naturally.
