Got Zits? Read this first:
I had acne for years, none of the treatments from the doctor and none of the treatments from the drug store 'cured' my acne. But, I cured my acne, when I discovered the one thing that I had to cut out from my diet.
Acne Treatment:
How to cure Acne for Good for free:
That's what I figured out, after 10 years of adult acne.
I had tried :
antibiotics (tetacycline - it worked but played havock with my liver),
Birth control (that helped, but only partly, and after all, birth control is not a good long-term plan for a woman, and not much use if you happen to be a man),
various topical "solutions", alchohol (this helped when done right, not a cure mind you)
Avoided oil based sunscreens... (with my cure now you don't need to)
Some things worked better than others, but nothing helped altogether. And, I never knew just why it was I had broken out when I did break out. Finally I smashed through the 'blemish barrier' so to speak. That was more than 15 years ago and I have had clear skin ever since. Mind you from time to time, I have tried to push the envelope, eaten something that I knew would cause trouble, and voila! a zit pushes up to warn me that 'Yep' the system works and I had better keep sticking to it...
The nice thing about my technique of staying pimple free is that it is doesn't cost a penny. To really understand exactly the why's and wherefore's of what you need to do to remain in clear-skin state you might want to buy a book or two to give yourself some foundation ( I have the recomended link below). But, other than that, the actual cost of maintaining clear skin is exactly $0.00 per month.
Interesting isn't it? especially when you consider just how much money acne is worth to the skin-care and the pharmaceutical industry.
So what is the magic trick that I discovered? Simple really, I banned trans fatty acids (better know as 'trans-fats') from my kitchen. That was it. It has worked for me ever since, and now, it is working for my teenage daughter.
It would be nice if that is all I would have to say and you could just take it from there. But, there is more I must say because most of the stuff written about trans fats is only partially correct. To get rid of trans fats from your diet you need to really know what they are, and where they are hiding. Firstly, the new Tans-Fat-Free labeling rules that have sprung up recently don't require the notice of trans fats below, a certain level. In other words you may label your product as trans fat free, even if it does contain measurable levels of trans fatty acids, provided these amounts fall within some predetermined minimum level. My own experience is that, depending on your condition, even very minute amounts of trans fats may be sufficient to cause acne outbreaks. Secondly, trans fats aren't formed only by partial hydrogenation of oils. (which is what most people discussing the the matter will mention). They are also caused by the high temperatures that are routinely employed in the processing of virtually all supermarket types of vegetable oil. And, trans fats are also caused by the action of Oxygen and light energies on natural oil molecules (which also tends to occur in modern day oil processing circumstances).
What this means is that most of the bottled vegetable oils and margarines that you can find in the supermarket are full of trans fatty acids (hydrogenation issues quite aside). And, by that token all the products such as baked goods and oil containing sauces and spreads, and canned goods and anything that is produced using these oils as an ingredient also contains trans fats. The only foods that contain oil, and are not full of trans fats are those foods that are made with minimally processed oils and fats. These do exist even in the super market, and you can find them, which is important, because you need fats and oils for your health. The bad rap that fats and oils have taken for all these years actually arose out of studies which did not take into account the fact that oils in the modern diet have tended to be associated with all this trans fatty garbage. Since they were not aware of the trans fatty acids researchers have blamed fats and oils themselves for the health problems that were actually caused by the trans fatty acids that the natural oils had come to contain.
So what do you do to get trans fats out of your kitchen? You learn to read the label - every time you buy anything. And, you only buy products that do not contain regular processed oils. Instead, you find products that only contain minimally processed oils. What are these minimally processed oils? Here is a short list:
Butter (the best for anything that requires much heat)
Olive oil (a naturally minimally processed oil)
Cold pressed or unrefined-cold pressed oil (usually found only in a health food store) or in the ingredients of health food items,
Mayonnaise made with cold-pressed oil (Spectrum oils as example),
Salad dressings made with olive oil or Cold Pressed unrefined oils only.
I am going to be putting out a list of what you can and can not eat, and why. You might want to check back later and take a look. In the meantime. If you really want to get the goods on trans fatty acids, go to the guy who put them on the map. He is from my neck of the woods - Udo Urasmus with Fats that Heal and Fats that Kill. If you get your hands on his book and give it a read (the link is below) you will understand exactly what trans fats are, where you find them, how they came to be, and a whole lot besides. I highly recommend you getting Udo's information.
Kicking the Trans Fat habit was all that I personally needed to do in order to get rid of acne. But, it looks like there is are other aspects to the story. There are other toxin sources in the body which can cause just as much trouble as trans fatty acids cause. A dirty colon is one source of the internal toxic load (why do you think Grandma said you should drink more water to get clear skin?) Chronic (and probably unidentified) Yeast infections are another source of the same. Acne No More is an eBook that deals with really serious acne, and show people how to affect rapid permanent cures.
So, if you just read this whole post, and you did so because you happen to be someone who happens to suffer from bad skin, and you happen to have had enough. Take heart. And, do as I did. Living with a constant infected face, or skin otherwise is not nice. You need to lay out your plan, and follow through. It takes a little effort, but, once you have developed your new habits, no more effort anymore. And you will just feel better. Then, on the other hand if getting rid or 'trans' isn't the whole solution, it will be part of the solution. And, all the information you need, besides, to succeed is out there alright. Eventually you will get the whole package together. And, you will know what I mean. It's worth it.
Another thing too, I will be adding to this post in days to come: with reguards to curing constipation, and other internal toxin culprits.
The tale goes on...
