Contrary to popular belief Tinnitus is not something you just have to put up with for the rest of your life and there are many different conventional and alternative remedies for Tinnitus available but this lens will focus mainly on alternative treatments that don't have unwanted and nasty side effects.

Note: Always discuss with your health care provider any alternative treatments you may be considering.

Cures for Tinnitus - Maskers

A different approach, drug and stress free!

Maskers are electronic devices that produce sounds which make Tinnitus less noticeable. Masking the sound made by Tinnitus is a really effective method of treatment because when the ringing in your ears is masked, you can't hear it which makes it less stressful and that may be enough to cure your Tinnitus and if it doesn't; it will really help you on your way!

Cures for Tinnitus - Temporomandibular joint disorder

Could this be your cause of Tinnitus?

Problems with the Temporomandibular joint can have many detrimental effects with one of them being... you guessed it, Tinnitus. Sometimes the Temporomandibular joint or TMJ doesn't function correctly. Disorders of the TMJ can be caused by such things as Bruxism (grinding the teeth), clenching teeth together and even arthritis. There are some simple exercises you can do daily to fix this problem which are shown in the video below.

Cures for Tinnitus - Ear syringing

How clean are your ears?

Sometimes when people have Tinnitus they just assume that their ears are nice and clean but for many people ear wax can be the cause of Tinnitus. When the dead skin cells that form ear wax don't get eliminated from the ear they become hard and compacted and when this hard wax presses against the walls of the ear it can cause Tinnitus. Have your doctor or health care provider take a look in your ears to see if there is any waxy build up in there, gross I know but it does happen and they can remove it by syringing the ears which is basically just squirting water at body temperature in to the ears which dislodges any hardened wax. The result is really clean ears, improved hearing (you can hear a fly pass wind at fifty yards, lol!) and hopefully no more Tinnitus.
