Cures For Snoring

If you are a snorer you certainly aren't alone.  In fact, medical experts like lung specialist Laurence Smolley know that nearly 45% of all adults have a tendency to snore.

Other sources found out that snoring affects fifty million households in the United States.  That's over one half of the households in the country.

60% of adults living with partners report that their partners snore.

Snoring is anything but unusual.  It's more common than most people think and those who suffer from snoring should know that they are not alone in dealing with the problem.

Snoring Symptoms

Snoring is a symptomatic of a problem and should be taken seriously.

There are a variety of potential snoring causes. Understanding them is the first step to cure snoring.

- You may have a naturally narrow throat.

- Smoking is a potential cause of snoring

- Irregularities with the nasal passageways may cause labored breathing and snoring.

- Those with long soft palates or extended uvulas are far more likely to suffer from snoring than are others.

- Consumption of alcohol can cause snoring, as can some types of medication.

Snoring Remedies

Snoring isn't a new problem and people have been looking ways to silence loud sleep partners for centuries.

The preferred systems involved preventing snorers from sleeping on their backs. Those who sleep on their backs often experienced additional airway closure and, in many cases, changing sleep position can remedy non-serious snoring.

Sewing empty spools of thread to the back of pajamas was a common strategy long ago. Many of today's more technologically-advanced methods have their roots in this same way of thinking.

Many cultures and societies have advocated the use of particular herbal remedies and other tactics to reduce snoring.

One could credibly argue that this age-old approach underlies many of today's over-the-counter snoring solutions that rely upon proprietary herbal blends.

Here are some exercises to completely stop snoring.

Stop Snoring Exercises

Snoring is mainly caused by something blocking the passage ways, however by simply following a few stop snoring exercise you can fix this problem yourself. Yes, I did say yourself; you don't need an instructor or even a doctor to tell you how to do this.

Singing is a great way to do your stop snoring exercise; as long as you are exercising your throat, tongue and roof of your mouth you will be helping yourself at night.

Another stop snoring exercise you can do without any help is a clucking one. This not only strengthens your tongue but the roof of your mouth as well. Be careful in doing this though, you can actually pull a muscle and leave your tongue sore for days at a time. The exercise goes like this: Place your tongue at the roof of your mouth and make like you are going to click it. Continue this a few times a night, I do it about 20 times a night plus a few other stop snoring exercise I have learned just to make sure I don't start snoring.

There is actually a program called, stop snoring exercise program which teaches you many different things to do to train yourself not to snore. The man that created this program was taught these lessons by his wife. He'd been married to her for a few years, dealing with the problem of him snoring so bad that they had to be in separate bedrooms when they went to sleep. Eventually they discovered that her love for teaching classical music would pay off and make him stop snoring all together. He would take the lessons she would teach her class and figure out which methods worked best with his issues. Today he has a program to help all snorers overcome this problem and tells of a simple procedure to get you started, for free.

Not all stop snoring exercise will work for everyone, however trying it is the only way you'll ever know if it'll work for you. Try doing this for a few weeks and if nothing seems to come of it try something else. At least by the time you are done you've had a few singing lessons.

There are many different stop snoring exercise to choose from, you don't have to use every one that you find. Find something you like and feel comfortable doing and stick with it for a while.
