Welcome To Cures For Acne

This lens is an introduction to my free to join Cures For Acne Club.

I put the club together after working within the fashion industry and getting loads of tips from models and make up artists about how to clear up my acne.

You will find tons of info about acne products that actually work, cures for acne and you can download your free ebook Acne Myths. Just Click Here for your free stuff.

Acne Skin Care

Many myths surround acne skin care and some of them can do more harm than good. These methods of acne treatment might cause more irritation the individual doesn't need. While some people may have to see a dermatologist to treat acne issues, others find that their acne skin care routine is all they needed to prevent blemishes.

Despite longstanding rumors that chocolate, excessive exercise and a whole host of other things cause or worsen acne breakouts, the only real causes of acne are poor skin care, stress, and hormones. There is not much you can do to alter your hormone levels, but you can control your stress level, to a certain degree, and practice healthy acne skin care to prevent acne breakouts.

Acne skin care should gently clean your skin and avoid irritating it. Acne breakouts, especially pimples, are essentially skin irritations. You want to make sure that you do not make breakouts any worse with improper skin care. The first and most basic thing you should do is wash you face, or other affected area, at least once a day.

If you have oily skin, you may want to wash twice a day. Simply use soap and water, and do not scrub your face, as this will only further irritate your skin. Try to be as gentle as possible when drying your face, as well. Washing your face helps remove excess oil, which prevents the pores from getting clogged and forming pimples. Also, if you wear makeup, you should use water based, not oil based, makeup so that your pores can breathe.

One of the worse cures for acne is popping your pimples too early. This practice will make your skin worse by bruising it or worse, the pimple can pop inward causoing a much harder, redder spot that seems to last forever.

Getting a sunburn can also worsen acne breakouts and keep you from having clear skin. A sunburn is very rough on your skin just like excessive scrubbing or popping pimples prematurely. A water-based sun block should protect your skin while keeping your pores from clogging. Breakouts will always occur occasionally, but with proper choices and good acne skin care, you can prevent breakouts and keep your skin looking healthier overall.

Acne Scar Treatment Options

Acne scars leave the sufferer feeling traumatized, withdrawn and distant. They feel that when they speak to someone, the only thing the person sees is their scars so it's important to seek acne scar treatment.

Luckily, for sufferers today there are several options open to them for acne scar treatment that is painless, effective and reasonably priced.

These treatments are available through a dermatologist's office and are carried out as an outpatient basis. You can expect to be back at work or school the next day although some patients do feel a little discomfort for the first few days after the acne scar treatment.

Microdermabrasion as an Acne Scar Treatment

Microdermabrasion is the follow on to the old dermabrasion acne scar treatment. Dermabrasion used a wire brush attachment on the end of a small extremely fast drill. The wire was used to remove a layer of skin so that the healthy skin below would be exposed.

This worked reasonably well but was very painful. So painful in fact that patients were regularly still in pain weeks after the treatment. Dermatologist's got to work finding another less painful method of exposing the healthy skin and came up with microdermabrasion.

It works on the same principal but uses tiny crystals instead of wire and is remarkably painless with most patients claiming only a day or two of discomfort. Consider repeating this acne scar treatment after a few months for even better results to your skin.

Light and Laser as Acne Scar Treatment

Is there nothing they cannot do with lights and lasers today? Very controlled lasers can work as an acne scar treatment the same way that those micro crystals do. They take off a very thin outer layer of skin so that new skin underneath is exposed.

This means those scars get taken off as well. Certain lights on the skin can help it to heal, plumping up the collagen underneath and forcing it to heal itself more readily.

Collagen Injections for Acne Scar Treatment

Acne scar treatment with collagen injections is not a permanent cure for acne but is the least painful of the 3 treatments discussed here. A scar is formed when skin is unable to bridge the gap left by a broken pimple.

Collagen injections force the skin to plump up in the broken area and so lessen the redness around the scar. This acne scar treatment needs to be repeated once or twice a week but many patients report being very happy with the results.

If you're interested in any acne scar treatment discussed here, make an appointment with your dermatologist today!

How Acne Cures Con Us

If you don't believe me talk to people in the know and I don't mean the shop assistant in the local drugstore. I mean people who have to understand about acne cures because their livelihood depends on it: Models!

I spent time with models and when I asked them how they manage to keep their skin acne free they all said basically the same thing, "Don't use acne cures, they're all designed to make sure you DON'T cure your acne."

Or as one famous New York model said to me "Listen hun, your telling me you believe they can give us a pill that stops us having babies but they can't cure a few zits?....Please!"

Here's how these acne cures con you. The initial application will help to get rid of any visible spots which makes it appear as if it is working to cure your acne but while its doing that its also stripping your skin of vital oils.

These oils are what stops your skin from drying up, cracking and wrinkling. The reason we get wrinkles as we get older is because our body doesn't produce enough of these oils to keep our skin in tip top condition.

Because these acne cures strip these oils from your face, your body tries to compensate by producing more than it should. The treatment keeps the extra oil in check until your spots have gone and you stop using it or it runs out.

Guess what happens then? All that extra oil causes your face to break out in another outbreak, often worse than the one you had before the treatment, so off you go back to the drugstore to buy "that" acne treatment because "it worked last time."

Its a viscous circle and the manufacturers love it. They are guaranteed repeat sales time after time!

Now you know about this acne cures con you will want to break out of the cycle and the best way to do that is to start yourself on a good skincare program and make sure you stick to it.

I was told about the acne cures con and how best to look after my skin by models I met while working in a fashion house. They gave me some great tips and information some of them had paid leading skincare specialists thousands of dollars for.

Always buy quality, mild skincare products. Use a cleanser on your face last thing every night before you get into bed. In the morning apply a good toner followed by a moisturizer.

Stick to that every day and you have the foundation of a good skincare program. If you do have an outbreak of acne then apply a mild topical treatment once a day, straight after applying the moisturizer.
