Detroit Tigers' Curtis Granderson--An Underrated All-Star
Curtis Granderson is my Tiger. But sshhhhh! Don't tell anybody! For some reason he's been flying under the All-Star radar. Hard to imagine with 22 triples so far this season--#1 in Major League Baseball. Curtis also received 376,033 write-in votes for the All-Star game this year, the most of any other player in Major League Baseball.
Curtis is not considered to be one of the "big name" players just yet--but that's OK with all of us in Detroit. As Curtis says, "I do like the fact that [other team's think] 'Hey, this guy's not going to hurt you that much.'"
He's kind of like our little secret weapon.
Curtis' latest accomplishment has gotten a small amount of media coverage. But unless you're a Detroit Tigers or Grandy fan, you probably don't know that Curtis is having a record-breaking season.
Have you ever heard of anyone having 20 home runs, 20 triples, 20 doubles, and 20 stolen bases in one season? That's because only two other players have done it besides Curtis. Willie Mays in 1957 (New York Giants) and Frank Schulte in 1911 (Chicago Cubs).
Curtis joined the 20-20-20-20 club on September 9, 2007 when he stole his 20th base against the Seattle Mariners. And the season isn't over yet. Curtis may the first player in MLB history to join the 22-22-22-22 club. Be sure to check out Curtis' stats below to see how he's doing!
This lens will teach you everything you need to know about Detroit Tigers' center fielder, Curtis Granderson. Be sure to check back often as the Tigers have a busy season and you never know what's going to happen next.
If you don't have a Tiger yet--Grandy may be the perfect choice for you!
Question: What does Curtis have written on the bottom lid of his cap? (You'll find out the answer when you finish reading this lens!)

Curtis Granderson Writes His Own Blog
Don't believe a word I'm sayin? Well here's your chance to hear it straight from the horses mouth. I don't know where he finds the time, but Curtis writes his own blog.
My favorite is when he "opens the mailbag" and answers questions sent in by readers. Some of the questions he gets are pretty funny like, "If we invited you for dinner, what would you like to eat?" Anyone inviting Curtis over for dinner would have their hands full. His favorite dish? "Thanksgiving dinner." Ha!

No worries mate!
Watching this video you can clearly see why Curtis has the most triples in MLB. I swear, the man is a freakin' gazelle! Even more amazing is watching him in real-life chase those flyballs out in centerfield. Television just doesn't do him any justice!

Granderson in Action
Curtis seems to have an interesting habit of putting his glove on his hat whenever he signs autographs. I guess it's as good a place as any?

Curtis is awesome!!! He has been my Tiger since he started. Lead off hitter and outfielder, just like I like to do but more importantly is he is great, he is humble, and he works hard. Curtis knows baseball is a game and he plays to have fun and he finished his college degree on time. He is a hero to me and someone children can look up to:) Adults, too!! Go Grandy.

curtis granderson is my favorite baseball player! deffinitely is someone who is underrated. luckily last year i was able to meet him and get my picture with him and have him sign a baseball for me. he has such a good heart and really has a gift for baseball. to all of those who dont know what kind of person curtis is..when my dad took me to meet him, instead of him not saying anything to my dad and just talk to me, he stood up leaned over and shook my dads hand. that showed that he has a lot of respect and is not a joke.
:D

How about Grandy's game last night? 5 for 7 with some nice opposite field hits. Plus, the Tigers win it in the 13th against the hated Indians 14-12. :)
