An introduction to Cycling socks
Customized cycling socks are socks that are specifically designed for cycling sports, whether it's for roadies or mountain bikers. Not only must bike socks be strong but they must also be comfortable whether it's cold, hot or humid. In addition since cycling socks are a fashion item that is often used to make a statement, they must be fully customizable, in terms of colors, logo and text. A Guide to Custom Cycling Socks
The most important thing when looking for custom made cycling socks, is to make sure they can indeed be personalized. Not only, should be able to choose the color(s) you want, but you should also be able to add some text and your logo.In terms of fabric, we do not recommend cotton, as it is notorious for being blisters-friendly. We instead recommend getting technical socks, which are great at wicking the moisture away, which means they will get rid of the sweat and prevent blisters. In addition, technical socks keep your feet comfortable, whether it's hot, cold, humid and are highly resistant.
When it comes to sizes, you shouldn't worry. They are usually stretch-to-fit, fitting all sizes. However, you should be able ask for specific sizes, if you need.
As for the minimum quantity that is usually required when ordering custom bike socks, it varies, from 100 to 300. However keep in mind that, because of the manufacturing costs, it is often more profitable to order 300 pairs than 100 (the less socks they make for you, the higher they charge you for a pair).
The delivery time is another element to consider but the standard is usually 4 to 8 weeks.
As for the price, it mostly depends on the quantity. To give you an idea, most companies charge around $4.50 per pair for around 300 pairs however you can certainly find cheaper. Manufacturers usually don't give their price on their websites and you will need to contact them - here is a tip: contact them by e-mail to avoid any sales pitch and avoid sites that encourage you to call. Here is another important tip about pricing that you should consider: most companies charge a set-up fee that they don't include when they give you a price per pair. As a result, the price per pair is higher than what they tell you; rather go for companies that do not charge any set-up fee so you know what you're getting!
Finally, depending on your sense of ethics, you can also ask where the socks are manufactured - The cheapest and lowest-quality socks are most of the time manufactured in sweat shops in poor countries, taking advantage of the local workforce, including kids. Personally, I always make sure they are made in the US - but that's just me.
Keep all these elements in mind and you should be able to find the manufacturer that works best for you and get great custom cycling socks!
