5. Go have a look at homes that the builders are currently building; this is the only way to truly know if they would be able to build what you want. If you have a floor plan in mind, go visit that type of house to make sure the room sizes are what you would expect. Also speak to the builders to make sure you would be on the same page as to what type of house you would like.

Finally, after following these steps you should be able to find the right home builder to build the home you have been dreaming of forever. The most important thing to always remember when building a custom home is to take things step-by-step and to not rush into anything. Rushing important decisions like these will only cause more stress when things don't turn out as expected.
