Sounds great huh? Yeah, I put the whole idea aside and mentally filed it in the trash for 2 weeks. And then it happened. I heard a story on National Public Radio (NPR) in the car when I drove to work one morning. Physicians and other healthcare professionals were beginning to create medication and supplements for their patients based on DNA tests! Listen for yourself.

Well I promptly called up my friend and we met to discuss this product further. I wanted in. I want my DNA test and I want my supplements. I'm not getting any younger you know. So we went to the GeneWize website and the cost is....$199! And then $99 per month thereafter on auto ship of the supplement! Holy Cow! Holy Squid Sandwiches! That's a lot of Moo-lah! I was in shock. Yeah, I see you are too.

But then I realized something. For that $199, I got a DNA test and my first month of supplements. A DNA test alone is more than that. Okay, that makes sense. But seriously! $99 a month for supplements? Sounds like a lot to me. And then my friend pointed out, I spend at least that much at my favorite coffee shop and smoothie shop every month. These supplement average out to $3.33 a day (divide $100 by 30 days). A cup of coffee or a fruit smoothie a day. Well, that's not so bad. And this is healthy for me. And if I get the right supplements for my body, it will hopefully save me money in the future with any health issues that could or might arise if I didn't take supplements at all. Think of it as, preventative. Hey, I need to stop drinking so much coffee anyway.
