Unique Party Invitations Have Original Designs
Parties are fun, but planning for them can be very time consuming and in the end you hope everyone will show up and have a great time.
Finding the right invitation is the key. I've tried to include all types of party themes in hope that you will find one that is unique and original and perfect for your party. And ...Save time by customizing on-line before ordering by using the easy template line areas to fill in party information.
I believe that a good looking, interesting, invitation is less likely to get lost or overlooked and use the RSVP area and just maybe they will respond!!
Invite friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner, tree trimming and holiday cookie swap parties. The list of links continues to grow as I find the best and most unique designs at Zazzle.
Leave a message at the end of the page if you need something specific. If I can't find it, I can most likely direct you to someone who can create it!
Cookie Swap & Christmas Gatherings
Easily add party information in the template spaces provided
I went to a cookie swap once many years ago and remember being stuffed after eating all the delicious cookies - but you don't have to eat the cookies...just bring them to share.
The general idea of a cookie swap is to bake your favorite holiday cookie - or any type- and bring dozens of them to the hostesses house. She will invite lots of people and then you will all "share" your cookies and take home as many as you brought, but will have a yummy variety.
The "Cookie Exchange" site explains it well and has some very nice ideas for hosting a party, one of them is to send invitations early since it's the holiday season and people are busy.

Themed Parties Are the Most Fun
Many years ago my husband and I hosted an "Undercover Cop" party. We came up with this idea for our neighborhood party.
There were 6 families and we "hung out" together, and being young with kids, we loved the idea of getting together right in the neighborhood. We were close to home in case we were needed and we saved money and had a good time too!
The undercover cop party was one of the most fun because my husband at the time was one - and we all kind of exaggerated the "undercover" part.
Our good-girl, sensible friend came dressed as a sleazy hooker type with a red bra and fluffy white boa around her neck...she was a riot.
Come to think of it, I wonder where she got that outfit!

Free First Birthday Cake
My story
Almost 12 years ago I ordered my son's First Birthday cake from my favorite southern grocery store - Publix!I was informed that I would also receive a free small - baby size- cake with the order. It was a yellow frosted cake with a smily face done in black icing and we let my son moosh it all up to eat it as he pleased.
He still remembers that cake as his favorite one ever!
I no longer live near a Publix store - unfortunately there are none in the northeastern US - so I looked it up online and sure enough - they still do the FREE toddler cake with an order. Other stores may do this as well...so be sure to ask when ordering!
Wilton Cake Pans
If you don't want to pay a bundle for the party cake, bake it yourself. These pans will most likely come with instructions and they are easy to use.
I have made the teddy bear cake and also a "stand up" Garfield cake for my son years ago.
Molded shapes are easier to decorate. Just mix up the frosting and pipe dots of varying colors all over the cake. It takes some time, but the end result is beautiful.

*************************************************

Please be considerate of kids at Halloween. Some younger children get scared easily and even some that are older don't like this holiday.
In Florida we would go to a friend's neighborhood for "trick or treat" and one year as the kids were walking up to the house, a man (who had been hiding in a box - coffin?) jumped out and scared the heck out of the kids!
Yes, Halloween is a time for scaring people and spooky stuff, but my son never wanted to go out again! Many years have passed and he still is very leery of approaching a house for "trick or treat".
