CMR whacks CRM over the head!
The idea of customer relationship management (that you can actually know your customer, or even have a real relationship with him or her) should be replaced FAST by the fact that the customer decides and is in control of the relationship with any company. So give in to that thought, enable & empower the customer to manage the relationship. It's like permission marketing as opposed to direct marketing. It's like a nice letter from a friend as opposed to SPAM.
