How To Customize Zazzle Products

Below the product image is a button that says, "Customize It!" Clicking on this button will bring you to the tools you can use to customize your product.

This will bring up the tools you use to customize your product. For cards, you can also choose to customize the inside top and bottom (or left and right for vertical cards) with your own personalized greeting or images.

Notice that in this image, there is a check mark by the thumbnail of the front of the card? That means that you are editing this part of the card. To change to an inside portion, just click on the thumnail or use the little arrows to scroll left or right.

On the right hand side of the screen, you will see the customization tools. Directly under the header that reads, "1. Customize It!" are two butons you can use to add your own image or your own text. In this example, we will add our own text. Just click on the button once.

Add your text in the small window that pops up.

Your text will appear on the image.

You can drag & drop the text to any area you would like. For this card, I want to move the message to the dark area above Molly's head.

In order to see the text, I need to change its color to a lighter one. Within the Customize It! section, you will see a line of different tools. From left to right, they are:

• Font choices
• Font sizes
• Font color
• Text alignment
• Text rotation
• Template tools, which you will probably not use right now

When you click on the colored box, your font color choices pop up. Click on the color you wish to use. I chose a simple white to contrast with the dark background.

Click on the little cursive-looking "f" in the tools to access all the different fonts available. Zazzle offers over 300 and you can either see them all or choose a catagory of fonts to look at and choose from.

When you click on a font, you will see the new font on the image of your product (sometimes this can take a few seconds, watch the little blue progress bar above the product image). You can look at a variety of different fonts, and then choose to see only the Recently Used fonts again. This can be very helpful if you like to browse through all the fonts, but may forget which ones you applied to your text.

Click on "Close" once you have decided on a font.

Choose the style of shirt you like best before you choose your size because different t-shirt styles have a different fit. The size chart for the shirt that is currently showing is next to the image of the shirt. I've circled and labeled it "1".

Check out the links on the right hand side of the Zazzle screenshot (2). You can look at mens, womens or kids styles, or look at all available styles. This will show you how the design would look an all the different styles of t-shirts Zazzle has.

Also notice the Customize tab under the shirt (3). You can use this tab to customize the shirt after you've chosen your style.

When you choose a shirt style, notice that you can also choose a different color than the one shown. Most of Zazzle's shirts come in a variety of colors, so experiment with the choices and see which one you like best for the design.

You'll also see the price change depending on your choices, so you'll know right away how much the shirt will cost.

OK, you chose the shirt and the color you like. Now, if you want, you can make some changes to the design.

WOW, there's a ton of stuff you can do!

You can resize it, add your own text, move the design around (just make sure it doesn't get cut off) or even add your own image! If you want, experiment with the many different options to get it just right. Nothing is permanent yet, so don't worry too much.

Note that you can move the design in large, regular, or small increments. One click on an arrow is a "regular" increment, but if you hold the shift key when you click, you'll get a larger amount of movement. Holding the control key will give you a smaller nudge. If you click on the lines next to the arrows, the design will move all the way to the up/right/down/left edge.

So if you wanted to, you could make the design smaller, move it up, and add your name underneath. There are also a bunch of different fonts to choose from, and you can pick their color. Again, feel free to experiment a little and see what you like.

Of course, if you like the design just the way it is, you can skip the customize part all together!

OK, now that you've created your one-of-a-kind masterpiece for your wardrobe, just add it to your cart. If you want, you can go back and make more changes, too.
