All About Cute Is What We Aim For
Cute Is What We Aim For is a pop punk band from New York currently signed to the Fueled By Ramen record label. The band formed in 2005 and has to date released two studio albums. The band's debut album was 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch' and 'Rotation' then followed. Both albums consist of twelve tracks and both it must be said are also absolutely excellent.'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch' was released through the Fueled By Ramen record label in 2006, it was then in 2008 that second album 'Rotation' would follow. Since forming, the band has already gone through quite a number of line-up changes; the biggest shake-up occurred this year however as the band parted ways with its drummer Tom Falcone. Tom had been in the band since 2005 and although not an original member (the original drummer was actually Rob Neiss); he had been in the band since the year that it was formed and this was therefore a very big shake-up for the band. Falcone cited personal differences as his reason for leaving the band.
Even though the band has only been together for three years now, it has been a really very interesting existence for them. Two excellent albums have been recorded by them and they've also toured all over the world to crowds of many. The band has toured with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, and also Gym Class Heroes. The band has had its fair share of highs but there have also been some definite lows; the drummer leaving at the start of September 2008 for one, and AbsolutePunk founder Jason Tate openly criticising them on their message board another. He levelled it against them that the band had excessively used auto-tune during the recording process of their debut album and also fired a couple of other shots at them. AbsolutePunk then interviewed the band and it was admitted that they did indeed use auto-tune when they recorded 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch'; it may have made the band look a little silly, but at least they were honest about their slight technical cheating.
Cute Is What We Aim For is a fantastic pop punk band, and having now successfully released two studio albums; the future looks as though it could well be incredibly bright for the band. For those that love their pop punk then this is definitely not a band to be missed; the music is of an absolutely exceptional standard and there are now two great albums to choose from should you wish to listen to what the band has to offer on record. Cute Is What We Aim For is an absolutely excellent band and I very much look forward to hearing what the band has to offer in the future.

'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch' is the debut album from Cute Is What We Aim For; it's a great little twelve track recording and all of the tracks present here are incredibly upbeat and always a lot of fun to listen to. It's a very bouncy album, very positive and the vibe is always absolutely excellent here. The music moves well, the tracks all fit together strongly, and there's a great fluidity with which the album progresses and the tracks unfold.
'Newport Living' comes first here, it's an excellent way for the band to begin the album and from here on in the music always has much to offer. The positive pop punk tones continue and from start to finish the album is always an absolute joy to listen to.
Some of the best tracks present here are those of 'Risque', 'Sweat the Battle Before the Battle Sweats You', 'Newport Living', and 'Teasing to Please (Left Side, Strong Side)'. All twelve tracks are excellent; these are my favourite four of all however and the tracks with which I feel that the band's sound is best put across. The choruses are always excellent, there's a great powerpop vibe about the sound, and always Shaant Hacikyan's voice is just absolutely amazing.
Shaant Hacikyan is most definitely the best quality that this band has to offer; his voice is so clear and so high in quality. He truly does have an absolutely magnificent voice and it is this that makes the music sound so strong. He's the perfect frontman for the band and with every track it is his voice that stands out here. I'm a huge fan of pop punk music and I have to say that Shaant Hacikyan has one of the best pop punk voices I've ever heard.
If you like pop punk music then you can't really go far wrong with 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch'; it's an absolutely fantastic album and I'm sure that you'll be impressed with what you find here. Cute Is What We Aim For is a great pop punk band and 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch' is without doubt one of the best pop punk albums to have been released in recent years.

With album number two the band carries on from where it left off with 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch'. Once more a very fresh sound is offered here and Shaant Hacikyan is very much central to the succulence of the Cute Is What We Aim For sound here. Twelve tracks are again offered, and once more Cute Is What We Aim For has managed to put to record an absolute blinder of an album.
If you like the band's first album then you can absolutely guarantee that you'll love the second; it's a bit like the first only possibly even better. It's very like the first album in fact, so much so that you could never possibly like one without the other. The band's music continues to impress here and again they have put down twelve tracks to the album to absolute perfection.
The only potential problem I now envisage for Cute Is What We Aim For is how they're ever possibly going to improve on what they've already got for album number three. The band has now recorded and released two stunning albums and it's now a difficult time for them as they look to come up with ideas for that all important third album. Given the high quality of the first two albums; I'm sure that it'll once more be exceptional, it's going to be hard for the band though and whether the band's sound progresses or whether they stick with the same formula is always going to be the biggest problem point of all.
'Rotation' is most definitely another pop punk album which all fans of the genre should own. There's not a single bad track present here and all twelve of them in fact are incredibly impressive. It's not often that I find I like all tracks on an album; it's happened twice now with Cute Is What We Aim For though and I'm happy to call myself a huge fan of the band. I wear my Cute Is What We Aim For hoodie in pride, and sing out the band's lyrics in a state of absolute joy; 'Rotation' is another Cute Is What We Aim For album which is without doubt well worth forking out for.
