Choosing the right puppy for your home is a very important decision. That puppy will grow up to be a full size dog in no time. Bringing a puppy into your home is a lifetime commitment on your part.
Make an educated decision on the right breed for your family and home by following a few common sense steps.
1.) Research the breed of dog(s) you are considering. Know their personality traits and temperament. Find out how big that cute little puppy is going to get and know their exercise requirements beforehand.
2.) If you have small children, be certain the breed you are considering is compatible with kids as many breeds are not kid friendly.
3.) Resist the temptation to act on impulse when shopping for a puppy.
4.) As important as researching the breed of dog, equally important is researching who you are purchasing your new family member from. If you choose not to adopt from a shelter, make certain you are purchasing from a reputable breeder that you can physically visit.
5.) At all costs, avoid adopting from a puppy mill.
6.) Once you get your new puppy, make plans to seek the appropriate training either by attending obedience class or purchasing a good book on puppy/dog training.

OK, I tried. Really I did. Everybody talks about it, loves it and can describe it....usually. Wikipedia doesn't have a subject on this, but tells me I can start one if I want. What no one seems to be able to do is tell me why. Why do puppies smell so good?
I did find some theories, but I'm not buying these. What about you?

- Not sure I should have looked at this lens but I did enjoy. You see, we are without a dog for the first time in over 30 yrs and have been debating about getting a puppy. We keep talking ourselves out of it due to our age, etc. but Oh Me, these pictures are so precious.
