...before I tell you more about the Funky Friends Factory Soft Toy Patterns, I'll tell you about some of the fantastic Artist's toy patterns we now have at the Funky Friends Factory... you'll find all sorts of toys to make including teddy bears, cloth dolls, needle felted animals and there are some cute cross-stitch kits of the Funky Friends toys.

*** We now have CLOTH DOLL patterns! ***

I just fell in love with these Cute Cloth Doll Patterns>> from internationally renowned designer Vicki Riley. Her doll-making instructions are so simple, you'll learn how you can easily and quickly make a soft-sculpture doll in just a few hours. Even if you have never sewn before you can make one of Vicki's dolls for that special someone in your life, or just for yourself!

... and Fantasy Creatures - Fairies, Goblins & Dragon Patterns

We've added a Baby Fairy, Cheeky Goblins and a rather studious looking Bookworm Dragon pattern from American Cloth Doll artist Jennifer Carson, also known as "the Dragon Charmer".

I thought the "Pea Pod" Baby Fairy Pattern >> was totally irrisistable, but we got the others in for all you Fantasy Fans out there! Jennifer has put together a super picture Needle Felting Tutorial>> so you can see how to make the cute little cheeky faces for her creatures.

*** We've still have our Teddy Patterns ***

We have wonderfully wacky Bear Patterns from Lynn Chandony in South Africa. We have some gorgeous, wide-eyed, innocent child-like Bear Patterns from Jennie Sandahl, a Swedish Teddy Bear artist, and finally we have some traditional Teddy Bear Patterns from Liz Walker-Watts from Wales. A real Teddy Bear Artists>> picnic!

Needle Felting KITS for Beginners

Marie Spaulding has designed these 'Do-It-Yourself' Workshop KITs to help people who can't get to craft workshops or who want to try needle felting without investing a lot of money.

As a beginner myself, I found these Needle Felting Kits>> were brilliant as you get everything you need to make your needle felted creature. The Needle Felting Tool Kit is INCLUDED with the Complete Kit. These Kits come with full colour photos to guide you step-by-step so you can't go wrong! You can make a cute needle felted animal in just one afternoon.

And now, about those Funky Friends Factory Toy Patterns...

Prince Charming Soft Toy Frog Pattern

Prince Charming has many adoring fans around the world, but he is still waiting for his princess kiss.

Make a Prince Charming Froggy for yourself, friends, kids or colleagues, for a nursery or baby shower gift. With his googly eyes and pleading expression he'll definitely get his fair share of kisses!

Lamkins Soft Toy Lamb Pattern

This Snuggly Lamb is our most popular Pattern!

Lamkins makes a lovely bedtime-buddy for toddlers (and even for little babies%u2026 just use safety eyes or better still, sew French knots instead of beads for the eyes.)
Lamkins is a great gift for an expectant mum. I once made a pair of lambs for a friend who was expecting twins and in true Aussie fashion, they were christened Bruce and Sheila!

Honey the Easy Teddy Bear

With her cute little bottom in the air, Honey Bear is simply adorable!

Honey is one of the simplest teddy patterns around - you don't have to be an experienced bear maker to make this teddy bear as her arms and legs are not jointed. She is a brilliant project for a beginners who are too scared to try jointed teddies.

Dilby Duckling Soft Toy Pattern

There's nothing ugly about this little duckling!

With his adorable pout, Dilby the baby duckling will tug on your heartstrings. His expression says it all - "Love me!" You could use any stretch fabric but Dilby is best made from fleece for a warm cuddly feel that makes him too cute to resist.

Patty the Soft Toy Cow Pattern

Patty is the cutest little dairy cow around!

This cute little cow is a great hit with kids and adults alike. I'm sure you know a "mad cow collector", you may even be one yourself! I know you're out there, I once made a "NOT FOR SALE - SAMPLE ONLY Patty" for a show and she was bought by an avid cow fan who just couldn't wait to have their own Patty to love!

Horsey Soft Toy Pattern

He must be the snuggliest foal around!

With his fuzzy mane and perky ears he will appeal to horse lovers of all ages. He can be made up in all sorts of colour variations you can make everyone's horsey with their own special look!

Horsey is still only little and he has an 'imaginary friend' Unix the UNICORN who he takes with him wherever he goes. *** a BONUS unicorn pattern is included with the Horsey pattern***

Snugglies Soft Toy Pattern

I think this is what dinosaurs would have looked like if they existed in the 1960's!

Snugglemuffin, Dizzy and Buttercup were inspired by this seasons bright and cheery fleece colours. They are the first 'Imaginary' Funky Friends. Children will find these cuddlesome monsters simply adorable. And if you are feeling inspired, you can shrink the pattern and turn them into a pram-tie or dangly toy for a baby.

Great Christmas Gift Idea!

Reggie is our very first Christmas Funky Friends Factory Pattern.

This cute little reindeer wants to grow up to help Santa, just like his big brother Rudolf, but he's still too little to drive a sleigh.

He's mostly made of fleece with a bit of shimmery red stretch velvet for his bright red nose. He'd make a lovely Christmas present for the children or he could be used to decorate your Christmas table. If you like sewing miniatures, you could shrink the pattern and sew up a few reideer to use as Christmas tree decorations or stocking fillers.

OK, that's just a sneak preview!

My favourite soft toy making books...

I just can't resist buying books about making soft toys (and I've bought a few useless ones along the way!) These are the best ones I have and I'm forever going back to them for inspiration. I know this lens is SUPPOSED to be all about MY soft toy making but ...I've added a teddy bear making book to my list! I bought it because it's the most comprehensive bear-making book I've seen and it has amazing picture instructions and easy clothes patterns.
