Cute Pet Stories

I used to tell people this story all the time when I was younger. When I was about fourteen I fixed myself two PB&J sandwiches, but could only finish one and a half, so I took the other half onto the back patio for my dog, Sophie. (The patio was almost an entire story off the ground and had stairs to the yard on one side.)

Sophie liked to jump for treats, so I held the sandwich up high until she got it, but for some reason, she was always afraid I was going to take it from her, so she ran down the stairs with it. (At this point, I couldn't see her.) After just a few seconds, I hear Sophie softly growling. So I ran down the stairs to find out whats up, and there sits my pet chicken with peanut butter and jelly all over her beak! From that point on, Sophie always had to share her treats with the chicken. :)

The illustration is also a part of Winter's creativity. It is a replica of a photo of her wonderful dog, Jezebel.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open.


I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.


Rosie is the worst! She will try and squeeze herself through the crack under the door, then when she gives up with that, she will scratch like crazy, it actually sounds like someone pounding on the door.

Silly me thought that now that all my kids were older and they finally gave up on following me to the bathroom, I would have some peace!

Well, we have had our EVENT for the morning! I am still trembling and laughing all at the same time! I was sitting at my desk as usual and heard a high pitch distress bark. I thought, ummmm, that's not Jazzi. That must be the little Yorkies next door. Well, the bark got louder and more hysterical. So I ran outside and looked. Up in a tree about 20 feet up was my crazy little dog, shaking in her boots.

The tree leans at the bottom about the equivalent of a reclining chair. But the higher it goes, the more it straightens out. Miss Jazz obviously had taken a running start and ran 20+ feet up the tree, only to discover that she couldn't get back down - - poor crazy baby.

I grabbed my camera as I rushed out the back door. When I got to her, I decided if I clicked the button, she might jump. And with the rocks on the ground below, there is a good chance that she would have broken something. I hated to miss the moment, but decided that would not be wise. I laid down on the tree where it leans, and crawled up, tummy down. I then climbed as high as I could and grabbed her. Jazzi was saved!

OMGosh, can't you imagine me calling the Fire Department and asking them to come and get my DOG out of a tree! I'm sure they would say, "Don't you mean your cat?" Oh no, my DOG!!! Only Jazzi! Thought I would give you all this laugh of the day. Suffice it to say, she is fine - - maybe a little embarrassed though. When I finally got to her, I held her in my arms telling her she was okay. She would not look at me. I have laughed so hard I hurt! My Jazzi, what a mess this little doggie can be!
