Cutout Booties - Hot Shoes for Women

These Booties are not for Babies! Just Shopping Babes!

Get 'em while they're hot!
Cutout booties - these fashion shoes were called one of Endless.com's favorite "of-the-moment" trends. This is "caged" platform shoe shopping at its hottest. This style of cut out shoe appears to have real staying power in 2011, too.

A trend-conscious lady can throw them on with bare legs and a short skirt for summer and then pair these booties with skinny jeans in the fall.
The shoe shown here is Dolce Vita Women's Pela Sandal on Amazon.

Hmm. Seems like this style of cutout shoe has been around before. Maybe the 1940's movie diva Rita Hayworth inspired these booties.

What the heck is a "Bootie"?

Yes, it is a knitted baby's shoe. But for a lady it is a shoe that has the styling of a boot without the height.

Can also be called a shoe-boot.

Wear Cage Cutout Booties--

without looking like a prisoner of fashion:

According to ShefindsMail, "Booties have proven that they have style staying power--even into spring, thanks to this '80s-inspired footwear - the cage bootie." They can be paired with leggings and a boyfriend blazer or skinny jeans, or with skirts and dresses. "ShefindsMail states that "this is the perfect look to start wearing in spring with bare legs (and feet) so that the cage pattern stands out."

We should all look as good as Rita Hayworth in her high heels.

For those of you who are not "film buffs", Rita Hayworth was an American film actress and a dancer. She was born in 1918 and died in 1987. I most remember her in the 1946 movie Gilda. I was not born then, but I used to love to watch B&W movies on the late show when I was a teen in the early 1960's. Since I was also a fan of Orson Welles, I know that she was married to him for a short while.

Few fans realize that she came from a Spanish heritage. You can read more about Ms. Hayworth in an article by JaguarJulie here on Squidoo.

Although the shoes Rita is wearing in this photo do not look like one could walk in them, the style is very similar to popular high heel shoes being sold today. In fact, I think I had a pair very similar to these in the 1970's. Mine were navy blue and I bought them from Sears.

More Rita Hayworth:

She probably wore dancing shoes more than she did a cutout bootie!

Gilda is the classic movie that I most remember Ms. Hayworth for. Cover Girl is a classic musical with Gene Kelly.

The sexy negligee photo was from Life Magazine.

Normally I wear fitflop boot. It's so comfortable, help my back pain. I can't wear high top boot anyway.

So this is nice lens. Useful information. Thanks
