How to Evenly Cut Layers for Handmade Cards
Hey there crafters!!
I make a lot of handmade cards. I make them for gifts, to sell, to teach, and of course to use and send!!
I thought I'd tackle a question that gets posed to me quite often: How do you know what size to cut your card layers?
The answer can be really simple!! Just remember these couple facts.

Your Basic Rules
Layering Using Stamps
Creating Microlayers
If you are looking for just a thin line of color, you can choose to use a microlayer. A microlayer is when your paper sizes are only 1/8" different. This creates a 1/16" border on all sides, which is about as wide as the line a Sharpie marker would draw. And there are your basic rules!!! If you want more layers, just add or subtract 1/4" (or 1/8" for a microlayer).
Good luck and happy layering!!
