The Lens Will Be About Finding a Cyber Date.

Cyber Dating means using the internet to find a date. Online dating has taken off in the last decade and is now widely accepted as a good way to meet real people. Not just cyber people. :-) Thousands have not only met online, but have married.

It wasn't long ago that most people looked at cyber dating as a somehow unseemly way to meet someone. There of course were stories of everything from people lying about their status in reagards to being married, in a current relationship or single. People aslo heard horror stories about people showing a picture on the website profile that wasn't there's.

Sure, these things happen, but most people realize that these occurances are they exception and not the norm. It's basically just a matter of keeping a level head and trying to get to know someone slowly.

The sites themselves have improved and added many features to help their members with cyber dating. This lens will look at the dating sites, the people who use them, make reviews, make observations and generally try to be an assistance to those looking to start cyber dating.

Thanks Suzanne. I have had a bit of experience in dating online using sites such as date.com, yahoo personals and match.com. Of the three I liked match.com the best. I have found some wonderful women using match.com. Don't think for a minute that there aren't quality people using online dating services.

OK, for a couple of tips here.

1. Spend time on your profile adding a good amount of text and photos.

2. Show as many of your interests as possible without overdoing it.

3. Don't be too aggresive going after women. I have had more success with letting the women contact me first.

4. After the first contact, pm and email each other for a while then ask if you can talk to them on the phone. Give them your number.

5. After you have talked for a while, I suggest going to meet at a coffee place just to meet for just a short time. If you get along you make a date, if not, it's was just a half an hour you spent finding out.

Of course, sometimes you get along so well online and on the phone it is natural to have a big wonderful first date. Every relationship is different.
