What is Cyberlocker ?

Have you ever heard about wuploud, rapidshare, hotfile, megaupload, fileserve or filesonic if not maybe this small article will help you a little bit.

So from beginning: cyberlockers are file sharing or hosting services. Most people are using this service every day to store large files or make them available to friends (for instance if you want to share with classmates what you have splendid video from the trip, that you have to do is just put your file into one of those storage, then you will get a unique address, after that post publicly and your friends can always download it from the file hosters). Also, many file hosting storage allows you to put a password, so you can easily protect your documents.
Using file hosting service is easiest way to upload and share your information.

Why do you need this?

You can say that why I need what because i can freely upload my desire files to my friends using Skype, MSN, or mail. But sometimes happens that your video or made high quality picture does not fit into one e-mail, or not all people can access Skype or MSN.So than for your help comes mas file storages.

FREE !?!?!?

Yes, it is a free service, but like most service providers should earn money somehow so there are a few disadvantages. Most of the companies earns money from high-speed downloading, when you do not have to wait for a few seconds or minutes to download a file. Some service suppliers charge during limited amount downloads per day. So i will try to find which a better.

Best file sharing websites

For my test i took 10 different cyberlockers: megaupload.com, fileserve.com, filesonic.com, rapidshare.com, wuploud.com, uploading.com, filejungle.com, x7.to, hotfile.com ,mediafire.com

My results:

10. mediafire.com worst in this group because they only let upload 200 megbites for free.
9. hotfile.com let users upload only 400 megabits. No rank on Alexa.
8 x7.to they let users upload 5 gigabytes for free but they are a littli bit slow and small ranking in alexa shows that most users agree with me
7. filejungle.com this cyberlocker is new so that explains small ranking by alexa. Also let users upload only 5 gigabytes for free.
6. wuploud.com this let upload only 2 gigabytes for free but it is fast.
5. rapidshare.com 2 gigabytes free uploading fast and a little bit more popular than wupload.
4. 3. filesonic.com and uploading.com both sites a more less similar they let users upload 10 gig. for free.
2. fileserve.com let users uploud even 500 gigabytes for free. But from my own opinion it could be "pain in the a.." for users who want to download from them for free. You have cancel a lot of banners before you can donwnload.
1. megaupload.com 200 gigabytes for free, easy to use, high rank on alexa. Also fast.

Cyberlockers are shutting down

last week Megaupload was shut downed. information seems that other servers are in trouble also:

Megaupload - Closed
Fileserve - Stopped filesharing. You can only download your own files. Deleting multiple files. Banning Premium accounts. Closed Affiliate Program.
Filesonic - Stopped filesharing. You can only download your own files.
Now using Digital fingerprinting. Files are being deleted as soon as uploaded.
VideoBB - Closed Affiliate Program.
Filepost - Started suspending accounts with infringing material (as Hotfile did)
Uploaded.to - Blocked U.S. access.
Videozer - Closed Affiliate Program.
Filejungle - Owned by Fileserve. Testing USA IP addresses blocking.
Uploadstation - Owned by Fileserve. Testing USA IP addresses blocking.
4Shared - Deleting multiple files
