Cyloop
Ranked #7,268 in Music, #194,784 overall
What is Cyloop?
Cyloop is a music portal and a social network that allows you to listen to more than 2000 hours (growing every day!) of music on streaming online radio for free, as well as create your own playlists and profiles, customize them with photos, graphics and the music you like, and connect with friends and even your favorite artists. Who needs pirated music when you can listen to thousands of excellent, quality tracks that YOU pick on Cyloop, free of charge!
What's so cool about Cyloop?
Glad you asked!
- It lets you listen to streaming music from many US and UK record labels, all absolutely free. Currently they have over 2000 hours of music!
- It allows you to create your favorite, interactive playlists ("Loops"), customize your profile, and let your friends know what kind of music you listen to. You can also meet new people with similar music tastes.
- It is a way to bring the artists and their fans together with the power of social networks. Every artist has their own profile, with blog, photos, comments, friends list, and of course their songs.
- You pick what kind of music you want to listen to. Create your own playlists or tune into one of the distinct radio channels (Top 100, Electronic/Dance, Hip Hop, Rock and many more).
- You don't even need to register to be able to listen to the radio (although you will be missing out on other features), so give it a try and see if you like the music they have before you decide if it's worth joining.
- Artists can share their content securely with the fans, and find out interesting statistics about their fanbase. Users can pick from the catalog whatever songs they want to listen to, instead of being forced to listen to same old "web radio".
- Linkin Park's there, Daft Punk is there, heck, even ZZ Top is on Cyloop!
Brief history of Cyloop
Plus some background info.
Cyloop was founded by a trio of Argentines who are currently living in Miami. Demian Bellumio is the CEO, his brother is the designer of the site, and his best friend is the one who take cares of the music stuff. The music community first started as Spanish-only, but it recently made a move into English-speaking market; adding other languages is planned as well. The portal is owned by it's parent company, Hoodiny Entertainment Group (Hoodiny for short) which was founded in 2006 and has staff in Los Angeles, Madrid and Miami. They are the ones who developed the unique software platform Cyloop runs on, called HC2 (Hoodiny Content + Community Platform).
Cyloop is partnering with ISPs, music retailers, and other media-related companies and provide them the said Cyloop platform; some of the most famous partners include Warner Music and popular Spanish portal Terra.es.
