As part of its 2008-2009 U.S. tour, World Help presents Children of the World. This choir, comprised of orphaned and disadvantaged children from several different countries, will be performing at Cypress Church on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 8:45am and 10:30am.

Their high-energy and inspiring program will feature several songs, in both English and native dialects, as well as stirring personal testimonies. The children have performed in such venues as Focus on the Family, Brooklyn Tabernacle, Crystal Cathedral and Disney World.

Children of the World represents millions of innocent hurting children who are suffering needlessly as a result of the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Their purpose is to generate compassion and inspire individuals to get involved in helping over 15 million children who have been orphaned and their lives drastically impacted by AIDS. A special video presentation will take you into the heart of this crisis and show you how to make a difference.

Cypress Church serves all of northern Orange County including the cities of Buena Park, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Garden Grove, La Palma and Cypress. The church campus is located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View.

40 Days of Community at Cypress Church

September 7 - October 19, 2008

The "40 Days of Community" campaign focused on expressing God's love in real and tangible ways through relationship. The campaign helped to move people from focusing on God's desires for their personal lives - "What on Earth am I here for?" - to focusing on what God wants them to do in their church and community - "What on Earth are we here for?"

Pastor Mike McKay said: "This new focus will encourage growth in the values that were planted in people's lives during the "40 Days of Purpose" and will result in blessings for our entire community."

What Should I Expect When I Visit Cypress Church?

What Should I Expect? When you visit one of our worship services, you'll experience a welcoming and Spirit-filled worship experience that mixes powerful hymns with inspiring, contemporary songs of faith. These services, led by our gifted worship leaders, choirs and band, support the insightful teaching of our pastors. What you learn on Sunday morning, you'll be able to use during the rest of the week. At Cypress Church, we want to help you connect with the personal hope and practical help that God can give us.

What About My Kids? At Cypress Church, your children will be loved and cherished as they spend their time in a safe and fun environment. Whether it is in their classroom during the 8:45am service or at Children's Church during the 10:30am service, you will find that your kids will enjoy the time they spend at church. www.cypresskids.net

Jr. High and High School students have a great time as they study the Bible together, worship God, grow in their relationship with God and one another, and serve Him with their lives. Youth group meets during the 10:30am service upstairs in Room 206. www.cypressyouth.net

What Should I Wear? It really doesn't matter! We're more concerned with meeting your needs than with what you wear. So, dress casually or dress up and you'll fit right in.

Where Should I Park? When you arrive, you will find visitor parking spaces reserved just for you. If those (and the rest of the lot) are full, you may park next door or at Cypress High School on Valley View Avenue. A Cypress Church shuttle will pick you up and drop you off at the front door of the church.

What Do You Mean It's Not For Me? The offering is for those who call Cypress Church their home. As our guest, we want you to get something, rather than give something.

If it's been a long time since you've been to church, Cypress Church has you in mind! There's already enough you have to think about when you're visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of this "stuff" out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has for you.

Gaining A Passion For Life

The Dangerous Adventure Of Being A Dude

Men from Cypress, Buena Park and nearby communities met Saturday, May 10 at Cypress Church to discover how to gain a passion for life. The evening began with a BBQ dinner prepared by "The Knights of the Holy Grill" led by Dave Austin. The meal included ribs, sausage, potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert.
Cypress Church Pastor Mike McKay continued his series of messages on "The Dangerous Adventure of Being a Dude." McKay used the life of King David from the Bible to illustrate several key points. He described the need for men to explore adventure, evolve skills, exercise faith, engage life's battles and deal with life's sins.
Some of the battles men need to engage in are the battles of the mind, mediocrity, materialism and the battle to have a good marriage. To be properly equipped men need to develop skills through training and discipline based on principles found in the Bible. "Proper training gives us confidence," said McKay. "We should not run from life's battles but into them."
The Men's Ministry of Cypress Church holds dinners on the second Saturday of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The next dinner is set for June 14, 2008. The topic for the evening will be "Gaining a Passion for Friends." The church campus is located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View.
Cypress Church also sponsors Men's Bible Study Fellowship on Monday evenings, All Pro Dad Breakfasts on the first Saturday of each month and is planning a family salt water fishing trip on June 27th.
