Cystic acne treatment - zap those zits with light and heat acne therapy

Ranked #2,178 in Healthy Living, #41,619 overall

Age old question: At what age does one grow out of pimples?

Well, I can't tell you the answer to the above question as, at the ripe old age of 53, I still have occasional flareups of cystic acne - proof that God has a sense of humor. I've tried about everything to clear up my acne - from changing my diet (somewhat) to buying expensive acne treatment face cleansers to my latest move - treating cystic acne with hlgh end heat treatments. Now, that might seem sort of simple; perhaps you're thinking I'm sitting in the sun with a hot towel wrapped around my face. Oh, no, mon frere. Quite the opposite - I'm able to control my cystic acne with the use of a relatively new product on the market - A handheld device which uses a powerful combination of heat and light to treat mild to moderate breakouts.

And, I'm about to help you too. So, grab your reading glasses and your credit card and let me give you some education about cystic acne treatment - zap those zits with light and heat acne therapy.

Inexpensive heat and light acne clearing devices

These heat and light acne clearing devices are fairly expensive but I've found some here that are more reasonable. Some of the higher end cystic acne treatment devices go upwards to $600! The one's I've got for you below range from $30 to $80.

Quasar Photorejuvenation Blue Light Therapy

No, this is not the type of blue light found at K-mart

The Quasar Photorejuvenation blue light therapy wand allows you to treat your acne in the privacy of your own home. Just apply a lubricant to the skin and move the wand around on the skin. Baby Quasar Photorejuvenation Light Therapy, Blue

From Amazon's product description:

Make acne sing the blues. Gorgeous, smoother, cleaner-looking skin is only a few minutes a day away. The Baby Blue light works by killing the acne-causing bacteria, P. Acne, and works well in treating inflammatory acne vulgaris that has not responded to other acne therapies. The P. Acne bacteria releases small molecules called Porphyrins. When Porphyrins are exposed to the Baby Blue's wavelengths of light, they produce free radicals that kill bacteria. Get rid of your harsh drying acne products. Gentle, natural, safe and painless, Baby Blue can be used on all skin types and all skin tones. While acne is not considered a serious health threat, severe acne can result in permanent scarring and can be a source of significant emotional distress. With regular and continued use, Baby Blue's light therapy treatment will dramatically improve the appearance of acneic skin, resulting in a clean, clear complexion. For best results, combine with the Baby Quasar's red and infrared light to help control sebum, stimulate healing and reduce inflammation. Quasar Light Therapy is FDA registered and FDA accepted.

Claro IPL Acne Clearing Device

I bought the Claro Acne Clearing Device and have enjoyed success in quickly clearing acne breakouts. I've also seen a drastic reduction in the number of acne breakouts I have so I'm pretty happy. The Claro Acne Clearing Device is midpriced - right around $180-200.

Proactiv on eBay

I personally have used Proactive for 5 years and love the stuff. It's definitely kept my breakouts to a dull roar. I use the Proactiv repairing lotion the most but also like the cleaner and the toner.

I was given minocycline by my skin doctor and was on it for a few years. It did the job but sadly, the damage to my skin was already done. :(
