The Monkees performed at the original Woodstock in 1969, but they were heckled off of the stage by The Grateful Dead.

That both Jimmy Page and Neil Young auditioned for the Monkees, but were turned down. Steven Stills was accepted, but passed when he found out that they wouldn't be writing their own songs. He suggested a friend of his instead. The friend? Peter Tork.

Neil Schon and Greg Rolie left Santana because they felt that his music was getting too commercial. The band they formed was Journey.

Syd Barret came up with the name Pink Floyd, from two of his favorite Blues artists. Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. Before they were known as Pink Floyd, they were at times, The Screaming Abdabs, The Abdabs & even The Megadeaths.

Blue Oyster Cult was once known as Soft White Underbelly.

Creedence Clearwater Revival were once known as The Golliwogs.

The Grateful Dead were known as The Warlocks. One of the founding members of the Warlocks was country singer Waylon Jennings, who had also been a member of Buddy Holly's Crickets.

What does Santana have in common with Judas Priest?

They both had hit songs, that had been written and recorded by the original Fleetwood Mac. Black Magic Woman for Santana and Green Manalishi With The Two Pronged Crown for Judas Priest. Fleetwood Mac, at that time, consisted of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer.

Manfred Mann wss the first artist to have exactly ONE hit song in each of three decades. Do Wah Diddy Diddy in the 60's, Blinded By The Light in the 70's and Somewhere In Africa in the 80's.
