All new babies need some tummy time, and what better place then right on dad's chest.
There are very few things so rewarding for such little effort. Your baby will get the exercise he or she needs and at the same time build a relationship with you. Putting the baby on your chest provides the warmth, comfort and security just like being held, and you are comfortably lying on your back.

The new recommendation is to put baby to bed on their backs, to prevent SIDS. But it is also important to give your baby some tummy time. This will also prevent your baby from getting flattened head, which may happen when a baby spends too much time on their back or in a car seat.

Tummy time for your baby helps them develop the strength and skills they will need for crawling, walking and using their hands.

It can sometimes be challenging, putting baby on their tummies, just on the ground. There are a lot of babies that just don't like it. Keeping the baby in contact with your body makes all the difference.

Another great way to give your baby tummy time is to carry your baby in a carrier facing you. The baby will respond to your movements, lift its head, push against you and all this helps them get stronger.
