Work at Home Dads Need Support Too

Ranked #33,985 in Business & Work, #461,676 overall

Moms make up an important part of the work from home sector. But with today's troubled economy, you can expect to see more and more dads working from home. Whether it be to supplement an existing income, stay home with the kids, or the solution to job loss, dads are going to play an increasingly important role in the home business field.

Dadpreneurs Are Going to Become a Rising Trend

How many moms do you know who work from home? Probably quite a few. The workplace, especially in the United States, doesn't offer a lot of flexibility for moms (don't even get me started on that). So moms have found innovative ways to try and balance family and career. Part-time work, job-sharing, working part-time from home are just a few. And a rising number of women have started their own business, many of them home businesses.

What about dads? I know a few dads who are staying home with the children while their wives work. That's not so unusual. But more and more dads are also looking for ways to work from home. In some cases, they are trying to create a secondary source of income (and hopefully residual income if they're really clever).

In other cases, dads who have been staying home with the kids are having to deal with the rising cost of living and are looking for ways to earn income from home. And of course, there are dads who have lost their jobs and can't find work.

Regardless of the circumstances, you can expect to see more dads working from home. Many of those dads are looking for ways to create income by building an internet network marketing business. MLM is an excellent business opportunity, and many people are looking for help on how to choose a good network marketing company.

Regadless of which business they choose, those work from home dads are going to need support and guidance, just like the moms.

If you google "mompreneur" you'll get nearly 85,000 hits. Now google "dadpreneur" and only 1,450 hits come up. And I only found one website that is devoted to dadpreneurs.

There are a ton of websites dedicated to moms working from home (typeamom, cafemom, workitmom, themompreneur, momslikeme are just a few).

I realize that men aren't as social as women. They don't have quite so easy a time asking for help and support. But working from home isn't easy and its my hope that dads not only plug into the existing work from home resources, but create new ones just for them.
