HERE'S WHAT I THINK
Two legendary ducks: Daffy Duck and Donald Duck. Both ducks have a speech impediment. One duck is used to violence involving anvils and dynamite, the other throws memorable temper tantrums. One of them wears a cute sailor suit, the other is content with his own feathers.

Gotta be Daffy - greatest cartoon bird ever. Donald is stroppy, unintelligible, and he wears cap, sailor tunic, and bow tie, but NO PANTS! Daffy is stroppy, mindlessly violent, very articulate, highly quotable, has a great speech impediment, and I love him!

Most definitely Daffy, and your quote above sums up part of why I choose him over Donald. I never could understand what Walt's creation was saying! But then I've always enjoyed the Warner Bros. shows better. I feel that they appeal to a broader audience of both kids and adults and not primarily to little kids. Not to say that adults can't enjoy the original Disney characters and shows, but it seems to me that they at times suffer from over-protectiveness, much like over-protective parents who fail to raise their children to prepare them for the real world.
Or maybe I'm just a little bit persuaded because you could only get the Disney shows on cable at a cost and the Warner Bros. shows were on broadcast television? But I think it's mostly the appeal to my sense of humor.
