Daggerdale is a Dungeons and Dragons video game, set in the D&D world it features solo and coop play. Go on quests and develop your character as you gain exp. It has immersive combat with an easy to learn melee attack system and also spell casting.

Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale features some stunning environmental graphics allowing you to get completely sucked in to the game play. Whether you go to Tower of Rezlu or fight your way through the mines of Tethyama, you will be amazed at the level of detail. The game takes place in the Forgotten Realms on the D&D continent of Faerûn in Daggerdale, a region in the Dalelands.

This game is in the category RPG, which is Role Playing Games. You take on the role of a character in one of the D&D classes, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard or Fighters. You then go on quests, earn experience and develop your character by increasing levels, much the same way as you do in other RPG games such as World of Warcraft, although this is only an RPG and not a MMORPG.

Daggerdale Guide to the Game

Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale takes you from the imaginary world of D&D role playing into the video game world. Fight mythical creatures as you go on quests through the Daggerdale realms. Bedlam Games have done a thorough job in recreating the authentic D&D experience in this game, so anyone used to any of the D&D games will slot straight in.

This game has had mixed reviews from various game reviewers. Unfortunately the market leader in D&D games is World of Warcraft and this game can by no means live up to that. World of Warcraft is heavily invested in whereas this game even with Bedlam Games and Atari involved can not stretch to that level. Compared to classic RPG games this is a good game. It does what it says on the tin and if you love Dungeons & Dragons then you will love this video game representation of the D&D world.

Daggerdale Dungeons & Dragons Style Character Development

One of the main appeals of Dungeons and Dragons the game as well as the various video games is the chance to build up a mythological character, level them up, improve them and generally get attached to them. This has been implemented in the Daggerdale game. You can choose from the four character types of D&D, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard and Fighter. The Cleric focusing on healing powers, Wizard on spell casting, Rogue on thieving skills and the Fighter on fighting. Whichever path you choose will decide how you will have to play the game as they all have differing skills.

The game also features different playable races from the D&D world. You can play as Dwarves, Halflings, Humans and Elves. Halflings being the equivalent of Hobbits, but they couldn't be called Hobbits because its a trademark of Tolkien. Each race has differing attributes that will help in certain situations.

The game was initially locked at only reaching level 10 with your characters. However a request from players has resulted in the developers planning to increase the cap to level 20.

When I exit out of the game it shuts my computer down without it going through official shutdown procedures and makes my computer think somethings wrong. Is there a patch or update or something I need to correct this?

Dungeons and Dragons Role Playing Game

Dungeons and Dragons was initially a role playing game inspired by the Tolkien books. It was created in 1974 and still has a cult following around the globe. The game involved creating a character in one of the classes and races of the D&D world and recording all of the attributes on a character sheet. You then have a dungeon master who runs games where your characters go on quests, fight monsters, loot treasure and gain experience. The more experience you get the better you character becomes and the more skills they acquire.

Role playing clubs have sprung up around the world and spin off games have produced a huge following of RPG games. RPG games are considered to be generally a geek type pass time, but if you were to actually work out how many people have participated in RPG games, RPG video games or watched films or series based on RPG worlds pretty much anyone in the developed world would have had some interaction. Especially now that you consider that World of Warcraft is an RPG game and also the global following of wargames such as Warhammer 40k.
