Daily Deals and Deals Aggregators

All about Deals and Deals Agrregators

This Page is to Exchange ideas and Review the Deals sites as well as the Re-publishers called Aggregators. Indeed the concept of Aggregators is well known and established. Airfare re-sellers such as Expedia, Kayak, Webjet , News aggregators (Google News is a very good example), Price Comparison websites (Getprice, Myshopping and etc.) - these are some of the well known examples. However the Deals sites are quite recent event ( with the triumph of Groupon ), and therefore the Deals Aggregators (Yipit, Dealradar, The Dealmap and etc. ) have arrived even later on, collecting links from these Group Buying and Daily Deals websites.
Is it a new venue in online marketing or just another short term dot com trend? We even launched up our own aggregator ( Hachup.com.au) in attempt to explore and understand the concept.
Everyone is welcome to share thoughts and ideas.

IS IT A BEGINNING OR THE END?

Coming up with the discussion on aggregators ( or I would rather call them RE-PUBLISHERS), I have one thing in mind. Would it not be the way that this concept would give an opportunity for almost anyone to pull together all the information they want to share which is freely available in the World Wide Web (simply copy and paste or, more advanced, via RSS or other formats of Data Feed )? Besides there are a lot of tools for collecting and publishing posts on/from Twitter/Facebook. The power of Social Media is undoubtedly rising enormously. SM becomes one of the most valuable sources of latest news which are being shared all around the world with the swiftness of the Internet connection. We clearly can see that the traditional media ( printed or even published online ) already face the uprising competition with SM. Could the low cost re-publishers who would enable to collect their information from SM quickly and timely speed the end of a newspaper era?

I agree with social media thing. A lot of people buy what friends in SM recommends or just recently bought and happy with it. On other side direct ads in SM are not welcome at all.
    It will be interesting
