The Damned are London punk band formed in 1976 and they are quite simply the best thing to ever happen to music.

The Damned were the first punk band from England to release a single, New Rose,
The Damned were the first punk band from England to release an album, Damned Damned Damned.
The Damned were the first punk band from England to tour the United States.

The Damned were the first punk band from England to evolve into goth rock and they became a major influence on the music of the goth genre and on the style & fashion.

And the Damned are one of the few punk bands from England to still tour regularly and produce new music.

Dave Vanians vocals & theatrical dress sense , Captain Sensibles antics & guitar style lend themselves to incorporating many different aspects into their music and image; garage, psychedelia, cabaret, full on rock n roll and the theatrical rock n roll of the likes of Screaming Lord Sutch and much more besides.

at a venue near you

Primarily a live touring band the Damned play regularly and often, nowhere more so perhaps than in the north of England where they can be seen regularly packing out venues and putting on a great show. They also have a habit of popping up on festival line ups over the summer and are not averse to gigging in Europe and the USA.

Over the years recording with the likes of Stiff ,Chiswick, Big Beat, Plus One, NEMS , Bronze records, MCA & more recently with Nitro records as well as recording independently they have produced 9 studio albums 27 singles a dozen live albums and of course the ever popular compilation albums and boxed sets, there are 23 of those around.

    that love song video is amazing! so obvsiouly lip synched, rat was not even drumming half the time! was listening to their bootleg cover of MC5's "looking at you" just the other night.

    The Damned have been a major influence on my life. From the very first moment of discovering them I was hooked . I was just coming in to the whole Goth thing having just caught the tail end of the UK punk era (late 70s early 80s) and The Damned were just top fun. I love them as much now as I did then.
