When I introduce myself

People act like they have never heard the name Damon.  So I've started a list of famous people that share my name.

Damon and Pythias 

somebody named AlexanderThe name Damon comes from the Greek legend of Damon and Pythias. They were two very close friends. Pythias had a little trouble with the law and was condemned to death by Dionysius I.

Damon offered to be held hostage while Pythias went to "settle his affairs and bid his family farewell." Dionysius agreed thinking he would never see Pythias again.

Damon was about to be executed when Pythias returned to receive the sentence. Dionysius was so impressed by their loyalty that he pardoned them both.

Matthew Paige "Matt" Damon 

Matt DamonA few people have probably heard of the actor Matt Damon. He has been in a few movies.

Matt's first film role was one line in the comedy Mystic Pizza. He became famous when he and his friend, Ben Affleck, won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting.

ha ha... this is great, and i actually made it on your list. i can feel my head swelling. i have to admit i can't stand it when i introduce myself as damon and i get... "damien"? i give people 2 chances and after that we can't be friends, because i realize these people only hear what they want to hear.
