Jiu Jitsu in Denmark

Jiu jitsu is a great means of self defense, but it is much more than that: It builds your physical strength, balance and coordination, increases your ability to focus and stay calm under any kind of pressure, and pushes you forward in your personal development.

In Denmark, the primary kind of jiu jitsu practiced is the traditional Japanese self defense form (as opposed to Brasillian Jiu Jitsu, which is geared more towards competition)

3 things you should know about jiu jitsu

Jiu jitsu was created from various old forms of Japanese martial arts by Jigoro Kano.
Jiu jitsu means "gentle art", and is based on the principle of using your attacker's force against him.
In jiu jitsu, meditation is used as a tool to empty your mind, which allows you to be present in the moment, and have the right reaction to a situation.
