Hi readers! DP-Back2fyooture here to tell you a bit about Danny Phantom, my cartoon obsession.
First off, I'll tell you a bit about the history of the show. It all started in late 2003 when Nickelodeon asked Butch Hartman to create a new TV show to grab another audience. It was told that Guy moon also made two theme songs. In my opinion, the first one is better, but for lenght reasons, Hartman decided to use the second theme instead. Another person on the Danny Phantom crew was the one who actually came up with the base design of the main characters, but Hartman was initially unsatisfied with the animation style. As a result, he added his own touches and details.
When the show first aired on Nickelodeon on April 3, 2004, it was said to be a flop as many people did not tune in. But this was only because the show was rather unknown at the time of it's first airing. But even though the program was not well known at the time, Viacom decided to let Hartman and his team continue the series for another few episodes.
Suddenly, Danny Phantom took off and became a huge success. Almost everyone who watched Nickelodeon tuned in to watch the newest episodes whenever they could. It remained this way throughout the first ten episodes. But after about the 14th episode, ratings started going down at a dramatic rate. by the time that the 19th episode came around, only about half of the people who usually watched it were watching it at all. This put Hartman in a tight corner with the CEO's of Viacom, and they strongly urged him to cut off the shows production. And he was just about to when an idea suddenly popped into his head-which later became the first episode of season 2. "Memory Blank", Danny Phantom's 20th episode did insanely well. most ratings for this showing came to be a 9 out of 10 tuning in for it. from there, Viacom decided to keep Danny Phantom running for a while-until they hit episode 24, "Reign Storm".
A lot of money had been put into the double-length episode. Just over $7,000. But it hadn't done quite as well as many had hoped, even though it got a 9.64 on the scale of 1-10. That was when Viacom went over Hartman's head and pulled the plug after episode 53-even though they've gone over his head so many times that he's got "Athletes Scalp". You may wonder; "You said, 'after episode 53'. But there are only 49 episodes." Well, here's the answer. As I've stated previously, Reign Storm was a double-length, one hour episode. As was "The Ultimate Enemy", "Reality Trip", and also "Phantom Planet". While there were 45 standard-run episodes, the TV movies are two episodes each. Do the math and it comes out to be 53 episodes.
Although the thoughts in your head right now may be related to something along the lines of, "Why is the show going to be cancelled?", I can tell that I have good news. As Nickelodeon announced early at the beginning of June, a DANNY PHANTOM MOVIE has been put into the production stage! However, at this time, the movie is only in the beginning stages and production has haulted due to the Viacom controversy regarding the cancellation of Danny Phantom. But one of the CEO's of the major production company has stated-although not in these exact words-"If these letters and e-mails keep up much longer, then we might as well give Danny Phantom a fourth, or maybe even, a fifth season." True, it has not been confirmed that Viacom will carry Danny Phantom through a few more seasons, but a certain "Save Danny" rally at Viacom's front door may change their mind.
This "Save Danny" rally is scheduled to be held on July 23rd, 2007 at 1515 Broadway in NYC. But you need to have signed up by June 30th, and not have your letter in the mail, but rather the letter on the desk of the people doing this. So if you haven't already signed up for the rally, then you will NOT be participating-but no one said that you couldn't just participate outside of Viacom's front gate! Here's some tips on what you can do:
1.) Decorate a car, truck, or any other vehicle you might have to help support Danny Phantom.
2.) If you don't have a vehicle or are too young to drive, you can stand outside of the gate and join in with signs and chanting. WARNING! THE PEOPLE AT THE GATE MAY SAY THAT YOU CAN'T PROTEST OUTSIDE OF THE STUDIO LOT, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN'T KEEP COMING BACK. EVEN IF THEY TURN YOU AWAY, PLEASE TRY TO MAKE AN EFFORT TO SAVE THE SHOW. BUT EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO STAY LONG, WHATEVER YOU DID TO HELP WILL PAY OFF, AND EVERYTHING ADDS UP!
3.) *THIS MAY RESULT IN YOU BEING FORCED TO LEAVE, MAYBE EVEN IN A FINE IF YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH, AND I STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT YOU DO NOT CHOOSE THIS OPTION* Decorate light poles, street signs, ect.
In case you've never seen the show before, (which I doubt is the case) Danny Phantom is about an average 14-year-old who is constanly mis-treated at school, and embarresed by his parents at home. And when he gets home one day from school, he finds a large object in the wall of the basement of his house. His parent's explain to him what it is and how it works just before activating it. But when the activation sequence fails and the two ghost-hunting parents give up, Danny tries to see what happened. Only to discover that HIS PARENTS FORGOT TO THROW THE INSIDE SWITCH INTO THE ON POSITION, thus leading to Danny accidentally throwing it himself while inside! Afer waking, he realizes that the shock from the portalhas gifted him with extraordinary abilities! Kind of makes you think of the Fantastic Four, doesn't it?

Plot Outline: It's been five months now since the world learned Danny's secret, and since the asteroid disaster was stopped. Finally, things are beginning to settle down, until Danny discovers that being the world's hero also can result in being the worlds paranoia. Everyone starts to have doubts about the self-proclaimed, "Danny Phantom" when he starts showing up at every major crime seen that there is. But when he goes digging through the reaches of the ghost zone, he discovers that the world is in danger, and Danny, once again, must save the 6 billion people on it...from himself!
Note: Dark Danny shows his ugly face in this episode.

Plot Outline: Paulina and Sam fight for the love of Danny while deep in the ghost zone, lurks a dangerous ghost called, Praxis! This powerful ghost may prove to be one of Danny's most dangerous enimies, as he has the ability to overshadow people and ghosts from a distance, the power to mimic some other ghost's abilities, and also create an electrifiying ecto-plasmic sheild. But when he splits up the 14 year-old halfa, and his goth girlfriend, Danny realizes that there's more to life than just being there for the people that he cares about.

Season: 4
Episode plot: It's yet another day with reporter's and fan's after an interview or an autograph regarding the famous human hybrid, and Danny's actually getting used to all of the extra attention, but when he least expects it, someone who no one ever thought to see again shows up-Vlad. As Jack tries to piece together how Vlad survived the impact of the "Disasteroid", Maddie has to keep the repulsive 42-year-old halfa off of her back. Yet at the same time, Danny tries to figure out why Skulker and Technus are randomly appearing at places like the electronic stores and car dealers. And, of course, as he discovers later, it's just another plot to kill Jack, get Maddie, buy the Packer's, and rule the world. And guess who it's linked to? If you guessed anyone other than Vlad, you need to get your head examined.

Season: 4
Episode plot outline: Danny is failing in almost all of his classes while at the same time, finding it hard to catch all of the stray ghost's and protect the people following him around. And now he's got even more junk heaped on his shoulders as the Fright Knight begins to turn the town into a litteral living nightmare! With the help of his mom, Maddie, and the Casper-High jock, Dash, Danny must rid the town of the Fright Knight, while at the same time turn everything back into the correct image of Amity Park.
Episode title: Two Worlds Apart

Season: 4
Episode plot outline: It's Danny's 15th birthday and Amity Park news decides to put the party in the news, invite Dumpty Humpty to play on stage, and also pull aside Loenardo DeCaprio and Tom Hanks to make a special appearance. as an added birthday surprise, Jack builds what he calls, "The Fenton Transporter", designed to cut a six hour plane ride to Hawaii down to just a few seconds! But when the transporter explodes during the testing phase, Danny, Sam and Tucker find themselves in a place that they've never been to: Dimmsdale, California. But this isn't the Dimmsdale that they've read about in the geology books. This isn't even in their own dimension! With the help of a ten-year-old who hasn't even heard of Danny Phantom, and with the burden of everyone who always intrudes on the unknown halfa, Danny, Sam, and Tucker must get back to their own reality before the wormhole that brought them there closes!
Note: This is a Danny Phantom/Fairly Odd Parents crossover.

Episode plot outline: The Guys in White orginization is mostly gone now, except for some agents still working on a case over in Germany, but there are also ROUGE AGENTS, still in Amity Park. Having there jobs, families, and soon, there homes lost, emotionally exhausted, and morally bankrupt smart-alecs are aiming, once again, for the Fentons. And when they capture Danny, everyone knows that they will not let him live-for long. With the worlds hero in grave and mortal danger, Maddie, Tucker, Sam and Jazz must, once again, team up to lock up the rouges, and get Danny back into safety.

Episode plot outline: Danny is in critical condition and in the hospital after being hit by a car. And just when everyone thinks that he's starting to make a recovery, the worst thing that can happen, DOES. Danny dies! yet somehow, his ghost half manages to escape the corpse and quickly flies home. Knowing that Danny's ghost half could easily leave Danny's dead body, and also knowing what killed him, Danny Phantom, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz go back in time to ensure that the tragety never happens. But could this lead to a paradox? Or will the teens' mission turn out to be successful?

All of the ghosts in the ghost zone are teaming up in an effort to defeat Danny and bring order to chaos. And when they start appearing around the world, taking hostages, and even kidnapping, Danny, Tucker, Sam, Jazz, Maddie, Jack, and a new friend, Alex, must try to defeat the ghosts both on Earth, and in the ghost zone. Can they all do it successfully? Or will it be a flop?! You'll have to find out for yourself.

Tucker is finally successful with getting a girlfriend. But he least expects to see he transform a ghost! Not knowing what is up with her, he employs the use of the "Fenton Finder" in order to see if he's going out with a ghost, or a halfa. Then, realizing that Praxis has her overshadowed, he goes to Danny for some help. But this time, they're getting personal. Danny wants to get back at Praxis for terrorizing people, once again. But Tucker wants payback for having been tricked into doing the ghost's chores. Will Danny and Tucker be able to stop this foul ghost before his master plan comes into play?

Episode plot outline:
Danny mourns the sudden loss of his powers, not knowing how or why he lost them. But when Danielle shows up, he gets a hunch of why. Discovering that Dani has also lost her powers, the two decide to look deeper than just the emotional level. When Sam, Tucker, and Jazz use the Fenton Crammer to probe Danny and Danielle's DNA, they discover that the Ecto-plasm that gave them their powers is somewhat non-existent. But when they run through there data, they discover that Danny lost his powers because they were given to him the second time when all of the ghosts in the ghost zone blasted him with ecto-blasts. But for Danielle, they discover that her molecular structure is once again deteriorating, thus leaving her without ghost-powers. Will the two ever get their powers back? And will Danielle's molecular structure ever be stabalized?

Dani has officially been adopted by the Fentons, but when Vlad shows his ugly face in town again, Jazz thinks that this is just another trick of Vlad's. Being the paranoid teen that she is, she begins spying on Dani and her activities. But when Dani finds out that her "sister" doesn't trust her and that her dad's bumbling and stupidity is more of a threat to her than Vlad is, she runs-well, flies-away from home, only to end up lost, and without a home. Now, Danny must get to Danielle before the crowds mob him and before she melts into ecto-plasm!

Vlad's back with more tricks than ever. But while fighting this villain, Danny discovers that it is just a duplicate! And things really get out of hand when the real Vlad shows up. At first, he offers himself the the Amity Park prison, but when they give him a probation, he is determined to set himself strait by helping the Fentons and protecting the people in danger. But when he just makes things worse, he starts to feel that he is still not welcome on Earth. So will the reformed villain flee for the ghost zone? Or will he sort things out?

It's a sunny Friday in Amity Park, and all is well. The Fenton Portal has been de-activated for yet another software upgrade, leading to no ghosts for a while. The press is finally beginning to let up, and the fan-crowds are dying down. But when Nocturne seems to come out of nowhere, Danny's weekend off turns into a nightmare-litterally! Everyone is asleep. That is, everyone but Danny. He seems to be uneffected by Nocturne's powers. But later, he finds out something extraordinary-he is developing telepathic powers! Not able to control these strange new abilities, Danny ventures into the ghost zone to try and find the only ghost that he knows with these powers-Frostbite. Now, Danny must fight against Nocturne with his newfound powers in order to wake everybody and defeat this ghost, once and for all!

It's the fourth of July again, and everyone is in the celebrating mood. Even Sam! But the fireworks come to a hault when one of Danny's most powerful enemies returns-himself! But his corrupt future-self has developed his powers even further, and proves to be even deadlier than before! But when Danny gets captured, Amity Park's only chance is Sam, Jazz, Tucker, Maddie, and Jack, to keep this foul ghost at bay. Yet the chances aren't too good that they will live to tell the tale, as they are practiacally defenceless against Phantom's ghostly wail. Will they rid the world of Dark Dan? Or will Dark Dan rid the world of them?! Watch your backs' 'Ghost Getters'!

Sam and Danny are having some trouble in their relationship. Danny can't go on a date with Sam for more than three minutes without having to fight off some ghost. But when Danny and Sam are supposed to go to the movie, and Danny isn't there, Sam does the worst thing she can do, even worse since Desiree was hovering right behind her. Of course, Sam wishes that she and Danny were never a couple. Realizing that Desiree was behind hewr the whole time, she quickly grabs out the Specter Deflecter. Will Sam be able to get back together with Danny? Or will she feel miserable forever?!
