Dan Price The Hobo Artist

Ranked #8,375 in Arts & Design, #141,307 overall

Dan Price is a fascinating and inspiring human being. He is striving to live a "simple" life. He wants us to leave the world better than we found it. A self-described "hobo artist", Dan is a former news and fine arts photographer. Probably best known for Moonlight Chronicles, an on-going series of hand-lettered and illustrated diaries which he self-published before finding sponsorship from Simple Shoes, a progressive footwear company. He lives in an 80-square-foot underground hobbit-like house when not on the road walking across the state or pedaling cross-country (over 4,500 miles) on a three-wheel racing tricycle. He just recently succeeded in raising two children with his partner Lynne. If you never thought you could draw, never liked drawing, or just stopped somewhere along the line like most of us do, I suggest you watch the video below. It might just convince you that you can draw and that it can be an enjoyable experience. Then -- read one of Dan's books. Besides being full of his amazing drawings, his wonderful personality shines through and his unique experience shows that choosing simplicity can be a refreshing alternative which can actually benefit us and the planet.
