Darfur, an ongoing genocide.

Darfur, caught in the crossfire of a genocide, yet governments stand by and discuss the politics of the situation. We discuss the tragedy in Darfur, exclaiming the terribleness of it all, and promise action. And as we talk about taking action, people continue dying.

The Darfur Genocide: A Present Reality

Darfur, its not the first time...

Genocide, its not a place we haven't been before. "Don't let history repeat itself", is a slogan that is about to become cliche as history goes on like a broken record.

I'm ashamed to be using the words myself, the only reason I use them is that I would be more ashamed staying silent, watching it all go by without at least raising my voice in protest.

What are your thoughts about the genocide in Darfur?

Why does the government stand by and watch?

It only took the potential threat of weapons of mass destruction to enter Iraq, god only knows why we are in Afghanistan, yet when a population is facing daily mass destruction or genocide as in Darfur, our government doesn't lift a finger. Am I missing something here?

I think stopping the sales of arms would be a start. But simply educating people on a broader scale on simple basics and moral values would go a long ways further than any government talk.

I don't think we can depend on governments or the U.N. to intervene. It's important to spread the word, as you are doing. Welcome to the Help Africa Group.

I think that the us and eu needs to stop dicking around and start doing something for these contries instead of involving themselvs in pathetic wars in Iraq Afganistan etc, they should actually do something HELPFUL for once.
