Dark Shadows Lara Parker's Angelique Fan Page

Lara Parker is not only beautiful. Like the other members of the Dark Shadows acting ensemble, she is multi-talented and smart. She probably did more to debunk the stereotype of the "dumb blonde" than anyone else.

After earning a BA in philosophy from Vassar College (on scholarship) and a Masters in Speech and Drama at the University of Iowa, she had five leading roles at the Millbrook Playhouse in Loch Haven, Pennsylvania. She then successfully auditioned for the part of Angelique on Dark Shadows and enchanted us along with the other characters in the show. At the same time she played the demanding role of Angelique, Parker also appeared in a Broadway show and two off-Broadway plays, Lulu and A Gun Play.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1972, Lara appeared in films (including Race With the Devil, Save the Tiger, Hi Mom!, Foxfire Light and China Lake Murders) and many television shows.

She studied screenplay writing and penned more than a few dramas, including One Child, Late in the Season, Dreammaker and Stardust. Lara Parker also earned a Master's Degree in creative writing from Antioch University.

Her first novel, Dark Shadows: Angelique's Descent, was published in 1998. In 2006, her second book, The Salem Branch, was added to her credits. She teaches at a college in Los Angeles and, in 2006, she conducted a two-day workshop at New York University (NYU) titled "Heart of Horror," about the process of horror writing. Parker also continues to write, attend Dark Shadows Conventions, spend time with her family, and yes, she is still as beautiful as ever!

In Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch Barnabas Collins, the vampire hero of the series, has recently become a human again through the efforts of his devoted descendent Dr. Julia Hoffman and is living in current day Collinsport, Maine trying to adjust to normal life. One of the judges who condemned her to death was a Collins--Barnabas's ancestor. Barnabas is desperate to win Antoinette's love and to protect her and her daughter from the new vampire that he suspects is attacking the inhabitants of Collinsport.

The first passions of Angelique and Barnabas are revealed at last. Growing up in the island paradise of Martinique , Angeliue Bouchard finds herself plunged into a world of betrayal and corruption. Imprisoned by her cruel father, she turns to the dark arts for solace, not knowing that a chance meeting with the young Barnabas Collins will soon change her life forever.

The first passions of Angelique and Barnabas are revealed at last.... On the run after escaping her father's clutches, Angelique fears her supernatural powers and the mysterious demon that haunts her dreams. Beginning her new life as a servant for the wealthy du Pres family, she finds herself tempted by forbidden love and dark desires when Barnabas Collins returns to Martinique.
