Shanghai, A Great Game for Tuning In Your Darts!
In darts, a Shanghai is commonly known as hitting a triple, double and single of a given number. The game Shanghai includes that very shot, while throwing at every number on the dartboard.
Much like "Round The World" or "Round The Clock", the targets include 1 through 20 and the bullseye. However you have the benefit of throwing three darts at each number, and the opportunity to "Shanghai" your opponent. And of course, to run across the oche at the bar screaming "Shanghaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!"

Shanghai: Getting Started
Shanghai: This is a fun and easy game to learn and is good practice because it covers the whole board. It may be played by any number of people or teams.
The Object: Try to score as many points as possible in 20 innings or "Shanghai" your opponent.
The Scoring: Each player throws one dart at bullseye, closest to the bullseye goes first. The names of the players are written in order across the top of the scoreboard and the numbers 1 through 20 are written down the left side of the board. Vertical lines are drawn to divide the scoreboard into columns, one for each player.

Can A Single Dart Shirt Triple Your Chances of Hitting the Double?
Playing Shanghai
The Play: Each player takes a turn throwing three darts to score the highest score possible in that round. Only the wedge that is the same number as the round counts towards the score. For example, only 1's count in the first round, 2's in the second, etc. The thin outer "doubles" ring counts as twice the number scored and the thin inner "triples" ring counts as three times. After all twenty rounds have been completed whoever has the highest score wins. The second way to win is to "Shanghai" your opponent. To Shanghai, you must hit one dart in the single, one in the triple and one in the double of the target number in any order. If you succeed in hitting a Shanghai, the game is over and you win regardless of the other player(s) score.

Suggested Strategies
Strategy: If you hit a double or a triple with the first dart, always try for the Shanghai. If you miss it, you will still have a decent score and if you do get it, you win.
Shanghai Variations
Triple or double last. This makes the game even harder to win by a Shanghai. In this variation your last dart has to hit either the double or the triple, you can't hit the single on your last dart. So if on your first dart you hit a triple, on the second you hit a double, and on the last dart you hit a single, you would not win automatically like you would in normal Shanghai.
Threes, fives, or sevens or you're out. This variation is played so that if you completely miss a specified inning number you are automatically out. So if you are playing "Threes or you're out" in the third round, if you don't hit any threes you automatically lose. You can use any number but the three; five and seven are the most common, seven probably being the most common.
Shanghai up to any number. You can play up to any number, one through ten or even all the way up to twenty.
