You Would Like to be Dating Seniors...Here Are Some Tips to Find Them.

If you are about to become a dating senior, or have been trying to be for a time now, read on. We are about to give you some good suggestions as to where you can find other seniors you might enjoy knowing.

Recognize that it can be quite daunting at this stage in life to be single. When you were growing up it wasn't common for a anyone, male or female to choose to remain single. You were supposed to marry, and stay that way. But, now, here you are, single, after all those years, and you don't want to be totally alone. You want a companion. But, where are they?\

Actually, it isn't as hard to meet new people as you might think. You just have to discover where they are, and be cognizant of the kinds of things they like to do.

OK. Let's go find them!

Dating Seniors Tip 1....The Best Places NOT to Look!

The very best place not to look would be bars. This is not to say you will never meet a nice person in a bar. But, it does say your chances are not so good.

As people get older drinking seems to leave their lives. As long as they have no problem, they drink less and less. It just isn't so important. A nice glass of wine is pleasant, that is not the kind of thing I am talking about.

I'm referring to the "regulars". The ones who are in that same bar nearly every day. Probably on the same stool. Be careful here. They may be very nice persons, but, they are limiting themselves drastically in what they have in their life.

Is that the kind of person you will enjoy spending time with? Probably not.

Dating Seniors Tip 2....Home Depot Still Works!

Remember the old buy a hammer trick? The Lady starts the conversation by asking the man which hammer she should buy. The Gent, by asking if he can help. "You look perplexed" is a good start.

For Seniors it doesn't have to be Saturday afternoon. Mid day, mid week is good. Grass seed and snow shovels are other departments that need decisions. But, be cognizant of the season! Not a lot of snow shovel are bought in the summer.

Dating Seniors Tip 3...The Donut Shop

Is there a donut shop in your neighborhood? Probably. Ever go there for coffee early in the morning? Lots of people do. I don't mean the 10 o'clock coffee break crowd, I mean 7:30 or 8:00 AM

Frequently single persons, especially seniors, are early risers. To go to the coffee shop to see friends, or read the paper, becomes a daily thing. Get your friend to go with you, if you like, the first time. It is quite a fun time in most shops!

Dating Seniors Tip 4....Sporting Events

I can hear the men now: "How would I meet women at a sports event?" You might be surprised how many women honestly are sports fans.

Remember Title 9? Colleges were required to put as much muscle and money into womens' athletic programs as mens'. In time the attitude of the whole country changed. Women developed a greater lifetime interest in sports, both as spectators and participants; men gained a greater respect for womens' athletic abilities.

You don't have to have pro teams in your area to find good games. Try the local community colleges.

Dating Seniors tip 5...a Great Guide Book.

Good advice and lots of humor, all bundled into the same little book. This is a real "find".Tom Walsh wrote this book to help seniors of both sexes who find themselves exposed to an arena in which they are unfamiliar and ill equipped to cope.

The book contains suggestions on how to conduct oneself in an attempt to find a new partner and what is necessary to find a comfortable single senior existence.

Several chapters are devoted to the outrageous experiences of the author while dating single ladies of various ages from 21 to 65 years old. His experiences are great do and don't tips! And very funny.
