Have you been to Davao before?
I was born and raised in the largest city of the world in terms of land area, Davao City. Davao City is situated in the Mindanao region of the Philippines. Most people would consider Davao as a province, but to me it doesn't really matter. Davao City for me is a home of hundreds of great beaches and wonderful sceneries. This lens is a tribute to ever growing city of Mindanao - Davao City.
Davao City: City of Royalties

Davao City is the largest city in the island of Mindanao with a total landmass of 2,444 square kilometers. Davao is considered The City of Royalties because of the presence of the kings and queens in the nature. The queen of orchids, known as the Waling-Waling. The king of exotic fruit, Durian. The king and grandfather of Philippine mountains, Mt. Apo. The king of the Philippine skies, Philippine Eagle are all found only in Davao City.
Davao City's Beaches

Davao City has a lot of great beaches and other sceneries that can make you feel like you're close to nature. The number tourists visiting Davao has been rapidly increasing every year. The most famous beach get away would the beaches in Island Garden City of Samal. Pearl Farm is just one of the many wondrous beaches seen in Samal Island. Kadayawan
Kadayawan has become one of the most exciting events of the year, not only to people in Davao, but to people from many parts of the globe. It is an annual celebration that continues to flourish every year. This years Kadayawan festival is themed "Musanay Lumadnong Kagikan, Yutang Kabilin Panalipdan!" or "Flourishing Indigenous Heritage, Protecting Ancestral Nations". It had two main components which were, "Lumadnong Kasaulogan" ( Indigenous Peoples Festival) and "Subay sa Lumadnong Kagikan (Contemporary Indigenous-motivated Celebrations ). The first one aimed to showcase the art and culture of the indigenous, while the latter aspired to showcase the impact of this art and culture to contemporary artist and communities.
Only in Davao

Davao City is known to have a lot of exotic foods. One of the many exotic found in the City is the most famous Durian fruit. Durian fruits is unique because of its distinctive odor and formidable thorn covered husk. Most of the big establishments don't allow Durian inside because of its strong smell. A lot of tourists visiting Davao will not waste their chance to have a piece of the King of all Fruits - Durian

King of all Birds

Philippine Eagle is known to be the King of all birds. It is big and heavy. There is a certain place in Davao that is named after the bird. It's called Philippine Eagle Park,located in Malagos. Philippine eagle ranked second to Harpy eagle bird of Central and South America but only in weight. It has a scientific name Pithecophaga Jefferyi. The bird has a smaller feet and legs despite of its size and weight. It belong to the family of Accipitridae. The bird is also known as Haribon or Haring Ibon because of its commanding size. You can the eagle in four areas of the Philippines: Luzon, Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao but you can find the largest number of eagles in Mindanao.
Adventure in Camp Sabros

If you're into extreme adventures. Camp Sabros is the best place to go to. The zip line in Camp Sabros opens last November of 2007. It is 380 meters long and 150 feet above the ground. When you try the zip line, you'll have a bird's eye view of the whole place.
Mt. Apo - The King of Philippine Peaks

Mountaineering is classified as a sport, hobby, hiking, trekking, and mountain climbing. It entails athletic and technical competence. To some, this form of recreation puts your life in danger, but the pride of conquering the peak of any mountain outweighs this fear. This makes mountaineering a popular diversion, and mountains not just a place above cities, but a hot tourist destination.
Davao City Philippines, as one of the largest cities in the world takes pride of Mt. Apo, which means grandfather, as the King of Philippine Peaks. It is 10,311 feet tall above sea level, making it one of Southeast Asia's highest mountains.
Mt. Apo has most visits during Holy Weeks, which climbers called it Conquer Mt. Apo, and on semestral breaks called Octotrek.
Mt. Apo is a place to see the exotic display of nature at its best - tropical forest, mountain lakes, waterfalls, and flora and fauna. This is where you can find some of God's hidden treasures.
Putting yourself at the peak of this mountain is a chance to shout your heart's content.

Davao was named as Asia's most livable city. Base on City Ordinance and progress Davao is the best place to be. No Fireworks, No firearms all is clean and green.
