Davey Allison was a NASCAR driver from Hueytown, Alabama. His father is Bobby Allison and his uncle is Donnie Allison, both former NASCAR drivers and legends. During his nine year NASCAR Sprint Cup career Davey Allison won 19 races. Allison died on July 13, 1993 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama from injuries he suffered in a helicopter crash the day before in Talladega, Alabama. The crash occurred while Allison was trying to land his new helicopter in the Talladega Superspeedway infield.
