But just who is David DeAngelo and what is Double Your Dating?

David DeAngelo is arguably the top dating guru on the Internet. His real name is Eben Pagan and he started off as a real estate and mortgage broker. He then took his business success and applied this knowledge to "get a handle on his dating life." He started off following Ross Jeffries, but branched off in 2001 where he adopted the handle David DeAngelo.

David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating states that men focus primarily on a woman's looks while women focus mostly on a man's behavior and personality. He has developed several methods for attracting women, most notably is his cocky and funny. It is based on psychology, more specifically women's genetic coding; he has delved into the woman psyche to understand the way they think.

David believes that much of our social behavior is related in some way to sexual reproduction, and that human mating habits are not that different from other species. He also suggests that modern society has conditioned many men to develop involuntary habits that hinder the success rate of attracting women. For instance most men use excessive flattery and gifting; this turns women off as it is seen as being insecure, needy, and unconfident.

He further contends that attraction is not a choice; women cannot be bribed into choosing to feel attraction, but rather feel attraction automatically when they sense a man has confidence, humor and independence, qualities he labels "cocky and funny."

But there are many that attack David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating, specifically this approach, claiming that you should just be yourself. They argue it is fake and that a woman will see through it.

Advocates of David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating state this is ignorance of the actual material. They claim that you are yourself; C&F is natural and it gives you confidence. It is almost like you were talking with friends; in fact, David actually suggests that you speak with a woman as though you were best friends.
