- It is so true when you spend the money to buy a really good leather bag. Believe it or not, I bought a really big leather purse in Mexico almost 40 years ago. I wanted it sturdy enough to be able to carry not only all of the junk I normally carry in my purse, but I needed to be able to carry tools for the Harley too. I still to this day am using the same black leather bag. I have had it redyed once, but have never had to replace the straps or anything else. If it cost a little more to buy a David Jones leather handbag, it is worth it in the long run as a well made leather bag will last a REALLY long time. Buy a classic style and it will never be out of style!
