David Tennant is a familiar face to any Doctor Who or Harry Potter fans, having played the 10th Doctor in the TV series of the former, and Barty Crouch in the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The ladies may also remember him from when he played lead role in the BBC drama Casanova.

- He has a BA in Dramatic Studies from Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama
- His first acting experience was touring Scotland in a minibus for 7:84 Scottish People's Theatre
- David's been a life-long fan of Doctor Who and begged his agent to put him up for the part. He even had a little Tom Baker doll when he was a child.
- He has auditioned 16 times for a role in detective drama Taggart, but never got a part!
- David knew he wanted to act from the age of three.
- He is 6'1" tall (about 185 cm)
David Tennant as the Doctor Who
David Tennant was announced as the Tenth Time Lord in April 2005. It has been a life long ambition of David's to play the Doctor. And it was watching the show as a child that inspired him to become an actor.
"From that point on I absolutely didn't want to do anything else," says David. "It's odd when I think about it. I don't quite know where it came from or how I could be so sure that becoming an actor could happen, but it never seemed an unlikely or unusual thought to have. It was probably to do with being brought up to believe that things were possible and you could be whatever you wanted to be."
"It is a thrill to be part of it, I keep thinking 'It isn't real is it?'. It has been very curious to sit watching the titles roll with my name on them."

- Absolutely in the fan club. I hope against hope that he'll return as Doctor Who for some kind of special during the 50th anniversary next year - fingers crossed. :-)

- A couple of years ago I went to a Dr Who exhibition in Cardiff and they had one of the suits DT wears in the series on display. I'm 5'6" and it looked like it would have been too short even on someone of my height...in view of that, I'm really surprised that he's supposedly over 6' tall - or perhaps it shrunk when it was dry cleaned or something :) Whatever, DT was a great Dr Who!

- I LOVE David Tennant he is simply gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! I think he was THE best Doctor Who. I have not missed a single episode of Doctor Who since he came on the show. I think it is SO sad that he left although I am looking forward to seeing the new Doctor (It comes on Sunday 18th in Oz)
