Who is David Anthony Watson?

The best thing about my job is that I can work on the top of a mountain if I want to!

There is nothing better than getting out in the fresh countryside air and taking in the breath taking views of the Lake District in Cumbria, England. And the best thing about this amazing hobby is that it doesn't cost a penny. Where else can you spend the day taking exercise and enjoying yourself with your family?

People ask me how can YOU actually work whilst climbing mountains. Well to be honest I don't work whilst climbing the hills but all I need is my phone when I get to the summit and I can happily plug away at my daily tasks.

I love to travel the world and I have been lucky enough to see many different countries and experienced many cultures. I lived in Sydney, Australia for 5 years and loved every minute of it. I was able to travel much of the world but still continue my successful career in marketing and direct sales. And yes before you ask I did get to cuddle a Kangaroo! Well feed one anyway:)

Whilst I was there I travelled right the way around the country from Sydney - Melbourne - Adelaide and I spent many weeks travelling from Sydney - Perth - Broome - Darwin - Alice Springs - Adelaide. I love the outdoors and camping out under the stars and luckily I'm not too scared of spiders.

People thought I was crazy to move back home to the cold UK but I guess your family are the most important part of your life and they are all back here.

I still get away though particularly in the dark, cold UK winters! I like to go on many different types of holidays as I love beach holidays as well as city breaks. My next trip booked is to Las Vegas in November, I'm pretty excited about that as it's only my second time in the US. I definitely plan to spend more time on that side of the globe in the coming years.

I think that people who are passionate about their job are very lucky. Most people fall into their job after university and find that their company owns them as opposed to them being in control. How many times have you missed out on a holiday because it's already booked? How many late nights have you spent working with little reward, when did your boss last say thanks? It's sometimes the little things that can really get to you.

And this was all before the Credit Crunch! Now there are likely to be pay freezes or cuts, heightened job insecurity and there's no such thing as a job for life. I spent a year worrying about the threat of redundancy and I was a slave to the company waiting for them to decide my fate. Why do we let ourselves go through the stress and worry? Because we need to provide for our family and the job market is pretty tough out there. I should know because I was on that market for quite some time with little opportunites coming my way. It can really knock your confidence that you have built up through your career.

All of that changed when I decided to become an internet entrepreneur and become the master of my own destiny. Now I am my own boss and have no one to answer to other than myself! I'm planning to do my annual appraisal soon, you can imagine where I'll be on the grid if you're a corporate employee - top right of course! I can literally work anywhere in the world and all I need is my laptop and phone. Perfect for someone like me that loves travelling. My business is all about helping other people who are in the same situation that I was last year to find new freedom and to truly own your own future rather than trundling along a train with no destination.
