An indepth Investigation On David Lindahl
I went to one of David Lindahl's free weekend seminars and have decided before I fork out thousands of dollars to go to his bootcamp I want to find out more about his program and past student experiences. So I have decided to make a Squidoo lens to share with others what I find out.
If you have worked with David, bought any of his apartment programs or gone to his bootcamps please submit feedback on your experience on my guest book below.
I have got emails from other real estate gurus telling me about David Lindhal and that was what finally got me to go to his free weekend seminar. I have not bought his program, but only gone to the free weekend seminar. I have bought programs from Larry Goins and Jason Gilbert and Preston Ely and Nathan Jurewicz and Ron LeGrand and Carleton Sheets . However none of them wanted as much money as David Lindahl is wanting so his program boot camp would be a much larger investment for me.
I have decided after looking at many programs that the best way for me to go is going to be with apartment buildings. What I am wondering is if David's stuff is really going to get me into property or if I can just buy other lower cost programs and learn what I need to know.

Does David Lindahl Honor His Refund Policy?
I found different stories on the web regarding this issue.
I recently found a complaint on the site Ripoff Report filed against David Lindhal for not refunding the money of the program at:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/seminar-programs/the-learning-annex/the-learning-annex-david-lin-w2394.htm
However, it appears that the person did not buy direct from David Lindahl, but through a company called the learning annex. He later wrote back though and said the refund was given after follow up with the learning annex. It also looks like he paid less than the $995 too. If you buy from the learning annex you may have more trouble getting a refund as it sounds like they have a different refund policy than David does on his website REmentor.com.
But, when I looked at reviews on:
GuruReview.com
http://www.gureview.com/gurus/david_lindahl/
There are people who had bad stories on losing money and not getting their refund.

Apartment House Riches - Home Study Program
David's home study program called Apartment House Riches is $995 and is 143 pages (at least at this time from what I read on his site). He also includes some CDS and other free bonuses, but I'm only interested in this review in the content of the program not free bonuses. Anyone who has bought both programs or David's program please post and share on my guest book below. Apartment House Riches Bootcamp (Live Event)
This is what he has staff try to sell at his free weekend seminars.
This I have been too. I went to a free weekend seminar on how to buy apartments that was advertised in my city. I was very excited about this as I wanted to meet David Lindahl and learn how he buys apartment buildings. However, I was very disappointed when I got there to find out that he was not even going to be at the seminar! The whole time they had advertised come see and learn how to buy apartments with David Lindahl, which was why I went, but when I got there he was not even there! He had sent other sales people on his staff to present for the weekend. I can certainly understand if he can not be at every seminar and wants to have sales people give the presentation for him, but it does not set up for a good impression when you advertise you are going to be there and it is advertised as David Lindahls seminar and he is not even there.
The sales men where very dynamic and strong speakers and shared similar stories of hard trials and how this changed their lives. I had to wonder if they really had been through hard trials or if that was their connect with the audience and form emotional connections which I think were played on later when the sales pitch came and it came hard.
The first part of the seminar was encouraging and motivational, but we were some what talked to like we were foolish investors and that they were going to educate us to be successful. I talked with some of the investors there and there were many established successful investors there in single family homes, but there were some new people so I supposed the speakers wanted to make everyone feel welcome. I do have to say here that my review is going to be some what biased here because I did feel very misled to have taken a weekend of to come and hear David talk and he didnt come. I also got the impression that it was not a accident, but that they regularly hold these seminars for free which are designed to sell the very expensive bootcamps. I dont mind paying for a bootcamp and even at a $5,000 or $10,000 cost I don't mind if it is good and helps me, but when they go about it this way it pushes my buttons. I do want to be as objective as possible though and give this a fair review. I feel I need to share my experience and feelings though so you are aware of how I felt and that may change how I saw things.
I do know that many people were very and I mean very excited there to buy the bootcamp and jumped up out of their seats like they won the lottery when they made the sales pitch. Which due to my skeptical view on it all now after my first impression and the emotional push and cues the sales guy gave - were those really average joes there for the weekend or were they on the payroll to run and buy to try and create a crowd rush or be a trigger point for people on the emotional push to go drop $5,000 or $8,000 on a bootcamp for a few days. I don't remember the cost of the bootcamp but it was very expensive and more than I expected, I had expected a $2,000 or $3,000 cost and this was a much higher price than I expected. The bootcamp was not going to be 5 or 10 of us with David, but was going to be a fairly large event and I wondered if I drop that much money will I even get to spend time with David and learn anything or will I be with 50 or 100 people and not be able to approach him. So what the bootcamp is really like well I dont know as I did not go. If you did go please share on the guest book your experience.
FOR DAVID OR HIS STAFF
If David or his staff happens to read my review here by chance I think you would be able to fix a lot of these concerns by making these changes. You seem like a real nice guy who wants to help people from the videos I have seen and your materials, but I think maybe your sales team is putting these things in place and well it is hurting your reputation I think. At least that is my opinion. I think if you do the following you would eliminate these concerns.
1) If you will not be at a seminar then make sure people know that. When people take off work to come hear you speak and you don't show up it is disrespectful. If it is a last minute thing, send a email to your people coming so they know in advance.
2) Don't let your sales team use the hard emotional sales methods they are using, at least they did when I was at the seminar. I don't remember the exact wording or what they said, but the message was basically get up out of your seat now and go sign up before it sells out and you can't go. If you don't do this your life will never change and you are doomed. That is honestly how I felt your sales team was making me feel, like I was stupid for not running like an idiot out of my chair to the back of the room to give your staff my credit card number to drop thousands of dollars. Just by the nature of the sales pitch, I refused to even consider it because it seemed to me like a hard sales pitch. Some people got up and ran back there, but they looked kind of like they were desperate. I imagine they were and in hard spots in life and were putting everything and all their hope in your bootcamp to change their life. The other investors like myself did not get up and run, we are not desperate but are open to what you have to teach, but I felt like your sales staff was taking advantage of people. I really think you would be fine in selling your bootcamp without the emotional push and hard sales pitch. If you share and teach more stuff up front free then people will by nature want to get more and learn what you have, but your sales team didn't share much on how to do anything, just shared how peoples lives changed and all the money they made and how this will change your life.
I mean no disrespect in this and do want to give you the benefit of the doubt. I think you need to talk to your sales team though and have them change their methods.

My findings on David Lindahl
First this is just my opinion and is based on what I have found on other websites. I have not bought David's program and only attended his weekend seminar which was mostly as I outlined above a sales pitch for the bootcamp live event for apartments.
The price seemed very high and would only be worth that if I was able to buy property. From what I have read on reviews and on other programs the material in the bootcamp is pretty basic and very likely much like what is in other programs or his home study program, but at a higher cost because it is a live event.
I did find reviews that have good things to say about David and many that had bad reviews saying he does not work with you or partner with you. I must say that the thing that attracted me most to David's bootcamp is that he will partner with me on deals as I lack the funding to get started. I read many reviews though saying that he does not partner with you and people who said they never got calls back on deals they wanted to partner with him on. This concerns me because I do not want to do the work and send him deals and then he buys them and I never know or he just keeps selling me training at thousands of dollars each time. When I was at the weekend seminar I asked the sales guy if I can partner with David as I know a good deal about apartments and I will teach myself and bring him only good deals, but they said I had to do the bootcamp and be trained.
I think from what I have read that the best thing is going to be for me to find my own private investors for funds to get started or find seller financing.

- I have bought David Lindahl's Apartment House Riches book and program and thought it was ok. I have bought about everyone's program out there in commercial real estate. His was ok. They are all similar I think. I tried his partner with him program option as well but didn't get any of my deals accepted. I've read around on other sites too that people are having trouble partnering with him. I wouldn't have paid the thousands of dollars if I knew I wouldn't get to partner with him. I still liked his program and his material, but without the partner option there isn't really any reason to spend more money on his stuff over others without it.

- I went to his bootcamp and it was pretty good, but the partner with him offer I have not ever had accepted. Every deal I have sent him has not been accepted to partner up on. I gave up.

- His biggest competitor Monica Main has taken a lot of his business. He even tried to sue her to shut her down. I think their coaching programs are about the same - they charge a lot and deliver little. As for the content of their programs though they are about the same.

- i have her program and davids program and also austin davis's program. monica and davids program are good how to get started and on the basics and cover a lot of everything. austins program is just on how to get funded and puts you in with partners on deals but does not have a outline on all the basics.

- i have not bought his program or done his bootcamp but have been to his hard sell free seminars. it was exciting and fun and the speaker (who i thought was going to be david) but was some other guy who was a past student focused on how great apartments are and how much money he is making (which is true i think and sounds great) but they did not share how to do anything and the entire thing was a hard sell to come pay thousands of dollars for a bootcamp. I was disappointed as I did not drive all that way to hear some sales guy sell me something. I came because it was advertised Davis was going to be there and teach. I was also shocked that the event was promoted by a real estate leader of a group I belong to so I trusted that it was going to be a legit event worth my time. It was not. I dont know if they knew it would be like that or not but I sure would not want to put my name behind a speaker that does not show up for his own seminar and send some sales man to push a hard sell to spend thousands of dollars on a bootcamp. For all I know David may not have even showed up at the bootcamp. And after reading all the stories of people paying thousands of dollars to go to his bootcamps to partner with him only to get the run around after they do all the work to find the deals sure does not make me want to work with his team. I would however consider working for his team if they dropped the high cost for it all. I dont expect them to work for free, but if they are really making all that money and are going to make a lot of money from me bringing them deals why no charge a few hundred to pay for the hotel or place for the training and teach people. I would be a lot more willing to try that out. So far I have found private investors to help me buy deals but they dont have a lot of money for big deals and they are slow to make a decision on deals. I would love to find some good sources for investors.

- i bought his program and later bought his competitors program from monica main after i read a blog on a lawsuit where he sued her to try and shut her down for stealing his program he said. i didnt think that her program was a copy of his, but she covers all the information like he does in his program, but i sure wish i had found hers first as it was only $100, actually i think it was $98 or $97, i dont remember exactly, but it was the same theory etc. just a lot less. i did try to work with her on her partner program too, much like davids but havent had any luck yet in finding a good deal. i think you pretty much just have to partner with other investors who have property and get them a good deal. you can read her review at http://www.squidoo.com/monicamain

- davids programs will not give you any real advantage as far as i am concerned over other gurus offering nearly the same training material at a much lower cost. i found a lady named monica main who david actually tried to sue to shut down as her stuff he thought was just like his stuff but at 1/10 of the cost or less. while she has people who dont like her mentoring programs either just like david they all pretty much have the same training stuff and once you have that you can start looking for deals and putting them togeather and present them to investors. squidoo has a review on monica too that tells a lot about her programs. what ever you do dont drop thousands of dollars for boot camp training with any gurus as you wont get any more access to partners on deals than simply doing up your deals and presenting them to investors. ive yet to meet one investor who went to his bootcamps who said it really helped them much other than giving them a motivational boost.

- I paid over $5,000 for everything while trying to work with David, but never got an apartment. I looked into learning more about the lady above who he sued that also teaches on how to buy apartments and bought her program, its very much like his program, but was not a grand. Its a digital download though, but I just printed it off and read through it, im working with her now although am skeptical if its going to work. I think pretty much you have to find your own private investors and money to get anything done, these gurus just take a lot of money for working with them and you dont get any better results than if you have any regular wealthy investor, but these gurus have so many people coming to them they blow you off it seems. If you want a good base to understand the apartments business davids program does do that well, but working with him is a joke. Or better yet just get monica main's program and print it off, its a lot cheaper, once you know your stuff then you can pursue investors direct, thats what i think im going to have to do.

- Hey guys, are there any students who have taken the coaching or bootcamp, and are now purchasing apartment complexes? no matter how big or small. I'm looking for feedback. I'm not looking for, " feel good" reviews, only those who actually put the teachings into action. know of any? thanks.

- buy his program on ebay and get others programs that arent very expensive like monica mains, but dont buy their coaching, mentoring, bootcamps, etc. as they are over priced and once you have the knowledge of the stuff and find deals all you have to do is present the deals to investors. if you have a good deal a investor will be interested in it. ive not ever found a program that will plug you into their investors without wanting thousands up front which makes no since... why charge you thousands of bucks for something that is hard for them to find and makes them hunreds of thousands of dollars! the reason is because gurus make lots of money on students who pay them for this but what re the gurus doing other than taking your deals to their investors and likely making a referral fee on top of your bootcamp fee! investors want good deals and if you have a good deal post around looking for a investor they arent that hard to find.

- I haven't taken any of Lindahls courses yet, but I did talk to one of the coaches. I think the best way is to find out WHO's taken coaching, and actually implemented the materials. I've been to several different bootcamps of others, and they always throw 'coaching' at the end anyways. and about Lindahl partnering up, I believe it has to be a huge deal, before he'd want to partner up with any of us. That's what I was told. It won't just be any regular deal, can't be doing it for small potatoes.

I know my problem already, is that I'm located in California, so I told them that I would prefer properties out of state.

- I have not bought his program yet but just found out about him reading a review of monica mains apartment program. I am interested in his bootcamp if he will really partner with me on my deals, but am skeptical if his bootcamp really would get me in the door to partner on deals. From what I have read he sued Monica Main because her stuff is a lot like his, I dont know if it is or not as I have not bought his program, but if I already have the same stuff for the $100 I paid with Monica Main's program I sure don't want to drop $1,000 to get the same stuff again with David's program. I have tried her partner program but am not happy with it, and really need to find someone to put up the cash for my down payment on deals. Has anyone actually partnered with him on a deal and not had to put down any money of their own?

- I was able to get his program on ebay for more than half price. Plus you can resell it on there when you are done with it.

- My partner and I signed up for his bootcamp to partner with him on deals, we have yet to have any deals we presented to partner with that we felt met the criteria be accepted. We are looking for other investors who can put up the cash for us on a deal as well.

- I have heard a lot of success stories from Dave's students and I have also heard stories about people that haven't gotten anything done since attending one of his events. It seems that he's providing the ways to learn HOW to do the deals, you just have to be the one to actually IMPLEMENT them. Friends of mine seem to think that if they pay $3,000 for a course that it will automatically come back to them tenfold. You have to USE what you learn and continue to work at it. Real estate doesn't just fall into your lap and make you rich, or else everyone would be doing it.
With that said, what Dave says makes sense, with the economies of scale and so forth, so if you are truly going to get into real estate (and not just dabble and pitter-patter), I say go for it.
Read "Think & Grow Rich" before you make any decisions, and that will help you decide whether or not you are going to actually make a move into real estate or a different way to make your "millions"

- Im looking at his bootcamp or home study course and trying to figure out if it is a good one to go with. It looks like he has a large staff to help, but also looks like he is spending a lot on hype/promotion/marketing which makes me skeptical.. almost seems like a late night tv infomercial and Ive tried those before without any luck. No one in my investor group has ever done any commercial deals, but several of us are really interested. Who else does everyone suggest?

- I was not impressed with his program. It is much like other apartment teachers, but for a lot more money.

- My partner bought his home study program and we both went over it and thought it was a good start. Heard too many stories on blogs and forums though about his partner program to fork out $4k for a bootcamp - the only reason we would go to it is to partner with him but it does not sound like people have been able to actually partner with him. Does anyone know any other investors who will partner with students?

- I did not get to meet David either at his free weekend event, but the event for being free I thought was worth my time. I didnt buy the bootcamp they were selling, but did get to meet other investors and found that to be valuable as well. If your lucky enough to go to a free weekend event he puts on it is a great way to meet other apartment investors.

- Save your money you can get basically the same course from monica main for $100 bucks instead of $1,000 from david. They both have a partner program and id say your chances of one of them partnering with you are about the same.. not too good.. your going to have to work on getting your first deal on your own or with a buddy. There are so many deals right now every gurus has so many people bringing them deals to partner with that you are just not likely going to see one actually work on a partner deal. Thats my opinion and Ive tried both.

- I forked up the money to go to his bootcamp.. I have yet to buy a property.. it is not so hard to learn how to buy.. you do however need funding to do your deals and none of mine I have wanted to partner with Dave on have ended up being bought.

- I went to one of his free weekend training seminars last year and loved the energy from the speakers, but they did go over kill on the hard sell to buy the bootcamp. Who has actually partnered with David on a deal? Everyone I talked to who had been to the bootcamp said they would partner with me since they can partner with David, but no one had actually bought a property yet in partnership with David. Im skeptical about paying $4k for a bootcamp to have to partner with him - why cant I partner with him if I buy the home study kit and go through it?

- I would like to hear from his students who have partnered with him. Do you really get to buy a property with no down payment as his partner when you go to his bootcamp?
